    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
     

    Learn and develop an understanding of the personal lines marketplace.  Under supervision, analyze and underwrite new business for a select group of agents and senior underwriters.Rate policies efficiently, accurately, and within the guidelines of the available program(s) Promptly address inquiries from agents, policyholder, or prospects. Evaluate policies for renewal consideration and recommend appropriate price or coverage adjustments based on prior policy experience. Participate in phone and email marketing communication of our products and services to our clients.Develop relationships with our existing clients as well as establish new relationshipsAttend on-site marketing visits with underwriting teamHandle Follow-Ups as assigned Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications/Requirements:
     Must have a valid Producer’s License.3 or more years of insurance experience is required.Demonstrated experience in standard underwriting practices and procedures is strongly preferred.Must possess effective communication, negotiation, and computer skills. Must possess strong analytical skills and detail orientation. Comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to exposure strongly preferred.Working knowledge of applicable Insurance Department regulations and policies is required.Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices is required. Insurance Industry designations are preferred.

    • Must have demonstrated negotiation skills
    • Technical knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to exposure.
    • Knowledge of departmental regulations and policies.
