    Field Engineer

    Reports To: Superintendent or Project Manager
    Travel Required: Yes Nationwide Project Assignments


    Position Overview

    JGM is seeking motivated early-career Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering professionals to join our team as Field Engineers supporting self-perform industrial construction projects throughout the United States, primarily east of the Mississippi. This hands-on, site-based role works directly alongside Superintendents, Project Managers, and field leadership on complex industrial projects involving structural steel, mechanical, piping, and heavy industrial construction work.


    The Field Engineer will assist with daily project execution, site coordination, schedule tracking, field reporting, quality control, safety initiatives, and overall construction operations from mobilization through project completion. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop into future construction leaders while gaining practical field experience in fast-paced industrial environments.


    Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of construction-related experience along with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in demanding project environments where teamwork, accountability, and problem-solving are essential.

    This position includes a structured per diem and travel reimbursement package for project assignments nationwide.


    Please note that these roles require traveling and working at project sites, up to 100% of the year, with extended hours for several months at a time. Per-diem is provided to support food and lodging.


    Compensation

    All Field Engineer positions are salaried/exempt. Salary is determined by experience level at time of hire.

    Field Engineer I (23 Years Experience): $70,000 $85,000Field Engineer II (35 Years Experience): $85,000 $100,000


    Annual merit reviews are conducted for all salaried positions. Advancement is based on demonstrated field performance and project responsibility.


    Per Diem & Travel Package

    $120/day per diem paid 7 days per week while on assignment100% travel reimbursement to and from project sites


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Work directly alongside Superintendents and field leadership to support daily site operations and project execution from mobilization through turnoverAssist with crew coordination, manpower planning, subcontractor oversight, and field activity sequencingReview and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and project schedulesSupport field quantity tracking, productivity reporting, and installed work verificationCoordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and project logistics to maintain scheduleTrack field progress and communicate updates, delays, and issues to the project management teamAssist with quality control inspections, punch lists, and project turnover documentationParticipate in pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and site safety initiativesMaintain accurate daily reports, field logs, and photo documentationAttend site meetings, contractor coordination meetings, and client walkthroughs as requiredTroubleshoot field issues and assist with resolving real-time construction challenges alongside field leadership


    Qualifications & Requirements

    Required

    Minimum 2 years of industrial construction field experience, preferably in structural steel, mechanical, piping, or process workAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentationOSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 considered with willingness to obtain OSHA 30)Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in fast-paced construction environments and adapt to changing field conditionsWillingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project demands require

    Preferred

    Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldExperience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management softwareProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    Position Overview



    MEC is seeking a skilled and dependable Machinery Mover/ Rigger to join our operations team. This role performs specialized work involving the safe transport, rigging, delivery and placement, of sensitive medical equipment in hospitals, laboratories, and clinical environments.


    This is more than basic material handlingit requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a strong understanding of rigging principles in high-stakes, customer-facing settings. Employees work in clean, highly professional healthcare environments where safety, attention to detail, and customer confidence are critical.


    As a Level 2 team member, you will operate with limited supervision, independently executing standard jobs alongside supporting more complex work. You will also play a key role in reinforcing safety, quality, and proper techniques and procedures with less experienced team members. This is a strong skilled-trade opportunity with growth into lead-level responsibilities.


    Core Responsibilities



    Perform safe loading, unloading, rolling, skidding, hoisting, and final placement of sensitive medical equipmentPlan and execute path-of-travel, accounting for center of gravity, clearances, and site constraintsSelect and properly use rigging and moving equipment including gantries, forklifts, liftgates, skates, toe jacks, cribbing, bars, straps, and chainsOversee loading, protection, securement, and transport preparation of equipment in accordance with manufacturer standards and DOT requirementsAssist with equipment de-crating/crating, disassembly/assembly, leveling, anchoring, securement, and basic mechanical alignmentConduct accurate pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections (when driving)Identify jobsite hazards and actively participate in pre-task planning and safety discussionsMaintain strict white glove standards, protecting equipment, as well as floors, walls, etc in a sensitive environmentCommunicate clearly with crew leads, operations, hospital staff, manufacturer and customer representativesSupport and guide Level 1 employees, demonstrating and reinforcing proper methods and safety practicesExecute standard jobs and assist with more complex, multi-piece, or high-risk movesWork flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends, with periodic travel primarily within the Mid-Atlantic region based on customer needs.

    Position Overview


    The Structural Steel Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to structural steel erection on large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
