    About the Opportunity:

    The Twos Teacher, working with children ages 24 through 36 months, will collaborate with the twos and early preschool teaching team to create a safe and loving environment. With warmth, patience and understanding, the Twos Teacher will foster social and emotional development through play experiences during group and individual learning.

    What you’ll be doing:

    Be responsive to each child’s individual needs and develop supportive relationships with families;Develop an emergent learning environment implementing The Creative Curriculum, Early Learning Foundations, and Sheva Center Framework.Plan and maintain a consistent routine and classroom management using a supportive, positive redirection approach. Maintain accurate daily records and document children’s developmental progress and interest using Remini communication platform.Provide care and active supervision to children and demonstrate an elevated level of responsiveness to needs as they arise maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment for learning.Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability

    What you bring to the table:

    Preferred credentials include: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related Field with at least 6 college credits in Early Childhood Education preferred; orAssociate’s degree in Early Childhood Education; or Child Development Associate (CDA)High School diploma required; Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Education program required; Must be at least 21 years of age;Must be CPR & First Aid Certified.

    POSITION SUMMARY: This position works in the Kitchen (institutional) operations assisting with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals and snacks served to JCC program participants and staff according to documented procedures. In addition, this position may assist with inventory quality control in food services. This position may also work seasonally in the JCC Café (retail), providing prompt, efficient and gracious service to all Café guests, including preparing food, beverages and snacks as ordered. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide prompt service and efficient food production and delivery to customers;Deliver high level of customer service;Follow all required standards specific to food handling, cleanliness, safety and personal appearance;Adhere to all health code requirements, including prescribed uniform, hair covering and good personal hygiene;Adhere to strict production schedule for food preparation to assure that meals are delivered on time and according to service standards; Prepare food according to all required kosher, nutritional and dietary guidelines;Set up, deliver, and serve meals as required;Break down dining area, clean up and store food;Maintain a clean kitchen, storage area and work area;Communicate inventory levels to Director of Food Operations;Follow OSHA guidelines.Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/AccountabilityOther duties may be assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High School diploma required; course work in food preparation and/or related courses a plusSkills in and knowledge of retail food productionMust be at least 18 years of ageKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Proven knowledge of and experience working with standardized recipes and production sheets;Marion County Health department “serv-safe- Food Handler” certification preferredAbility to interact and communicate effectively with constituent groups;Skills in and knowledge of related food service functions such as safety and sanitation, production methods, and equipment maintenance;Skills in time management and in prioritizing workload to meet daily production schedule and deadlines;Understanding of food specification including meat buyer’s guide, USDA produce, poultry and frozen specifications as well as weights and measures to accurately account for and inventory items;Adequate oral and written communication skills; basic math skills required;Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;Basic knowledge of Jewish dietary laws (or willingness to learn).

    Work Environment:

    The work environment can be fast-paced at times and requires high energy and lots of interaction with JCC members, staff and members of the community. Physical demands include working in a commercial kitchen and using various equipment needed prepare, serve, and deliver food, beverages and snacks. Position requires standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs. May be exposed to high air temperatures, humidity, cleaning agents.
