    Patient Care Technician With a commitment to patient and family centered care, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction and supervision of the licensed clinical team members in ways that value the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physiological, emotional, and social needs of the diversity of patients served by Jefferson Health. Job Duties Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners. Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members. May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team. Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role. Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life, and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need on a daily basis. Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care. Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively. Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Uses the language of partnership with patients and families, engaging them in their health and health care. BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.     Revenue Cycle Representative I This position will follow-up with insurance payors on rejected or underpaid claims, initiate claim reviews and work open claims in a timely manner to maximize reimbursement. Essential functions: Follow-up with insurance payors on rejected or underpaid claims. Initiate claim reviews where appropriate. Work open claims in a timely manner to maximize reimbursement. Resubmit claims to insurance payors with appropriate modifications. Ability to understand insurance denial codes and take corresponding action to resolve the denial. Knowledge of insurance registration and ability to use payor websites to verify patient eligibility. Remain current and knowledgeable regarding insurance payors rules and regulations such as Medicare, Medicaid, BC/BS and commercial carriers. Ability to meet weekly productivity standards established for all staff. Identify and report to Manager any rejection trends or other issues that affect reimbursement. Experience with Epic follow-up system or other automated follow-up system that requires documentation of actions. Good communications skills as position requires frequent contact with physician practice staff and insurance payor representatives. Experience in Epic billing system highly desirable.
