    JDC Power Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician

    FSR3 to support our customers' field operations. In this hands-on role, you will

    troubleshoot, maintain, and service electrical systems, industrial controls, and related

    equipment at client sites. You’ll play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation

    of power systems and delivering high-quality service, with a focus on resolving technical

    issues and supporting customers with their needs. The ideal candidate will have strong

    troubleshooting skills and experience in electrical systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Field Service Support:

    - Perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment,

    including transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and PLC controls.

    - Conduct system diagnostics and address technical issues to ensure minimal downtime and efficient

    system operation.

    - Support system startups and commissioning, ensuring systems are operational and meet customer

    specifications.

    Customer Interaction & Support:

    - Act as the primary point of contact for customers during service visits, resolving technical issues and

    ensuring customer satisfaction.

    - Provide basic training to customers on system operation and basic maintenance.

    - Document service activities, including providing test reports and feedback on system performance.

    Operational Efficiency:

    - Maintain accurate records of time tracking, service work, and inventory on-site.

    - Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

    - Utilize remote troubleshooting tools when applicable to resolve issues quickly and reduce downtime.

    Health & Safety Compliance:

    - Ensure all work adheres to company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and industry standards.

    - Participate in safety training sessions and maintain relevant safety certifications.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in electrical engineering or a related

    field is preferred.

    - Certifications such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or other relevant technical certifications are a plus.

    Experience:

    - 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a field service technician, with a focus on power systems,

    electrical equipment, or industrial controls.

    - Experience with basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, transformers,

    and circuit breakers.

    Skills & Competencies:

    - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    - Proficiency with field service management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel,Word).

    - Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.

    - Ability to work independently and manage service priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Extra Competencies:

    - Experience with electrical systems at low and medium voltage levels.

    - Basic experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and protective relay systems is a plus.

    Other Requirements:

    - Willingness and ability to travel frequently, with overnight stays to visit customer sites and JDC locations across the country.

    - A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

    - Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

    - Familiarity with industry-standard test equipment (e.g., multimeters, breaker test sets).

    Location: Various

    Travel Requirements:

    - Travel is required on a daily/weekly basis to both customer sites and internal field servicelocations across the Region. Occasional travel may be required to Hackettstown, NJ to meet withleadership.

In this FSR2-level role, you’ll be the trusted expert customers depend on to restore operations, optimize controls, and lead with safety. You’ll grow by tackling complex systems, influencing SOPs, and collaborating with engineers and technicians across the region.

    Your mission Restore and optimize electrical systems: transformers, breakers, LV/MV switchgear, PLC controls, and SCADA connections.Independently troubleshoot on-site to minimize downtime; escalate strategically when needed.Verify performance via inspections and testing against standards and best practices.Own customer communication from arrival to wrap-up with clear findings and next steps.Prepare accurate service documentation: test reports, diagnostics, and recommendations.Coordinate logistics — schedule, parts, tools — to execute work efficiently.Keep meticulous records: inventory, time, and equipment utilization.Deploy remote diagnostic tools; provide remote support to junior and senior peers.Champion safety with site assessments, briefings, and adherence to OSHA and company rules.Drive continuous improvement: contribute to SOPs and propose enhancements to service delivery. What sets you up for success High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.NFPA 70E, OSHA 30, or comparable certifications welcomed.3–5 years in field service with emphasis on power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.Demonstrated expertise resolving complex electrical issues and component failures.Experience with PLCs, SCADA, transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and protective relays.Familiarity with field service management software is a plus. Technical strengths Diagnostic mindset and strong problem-solving under time pressure.Proficiency with multimeters, relay test sets, and diagnostic applications.Excellent verbal/written communication with customers and internal teams.Effective prioritization and multi-tasking across multiple service calls.Collaborative team orientation.
