    The Personal Injury Case Manager is responsible for managing an active caseload from intake through settlement while serving as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of their case.

    This role requires exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will ensure each case progresses efficiently, clients remain informed, and all deadlines and firm standards are consistently met.

    Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClient ManagementContact newly assigned clients within 24 hours of receiving the case assignment.Build strong relationships with clients by providing compassionate, professional service.Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the duration of the case.Educate clients regarding the claims process and set appropriate expectations.Promptly respond to client calls, emails, and text messages.Maintain detailed notes documenting all client communications.Case ManagementReview all new case files for completeness and accuracy.Obtain missing documents and supporting evidence.Coordinate medical treatment and referrals when appropriate.Monitor treatment progress and identify additional treatment needs.Review police reports, medical records, and supporting documentation.Ensure all cases continue moving efficiently through each stage of the pre-litigation process.Insurance and ClaimsCommunicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, lien holders, and vendors.Assist clients with property damage claims, rental vehicles, and loss-of-use issues.Submit MedPay documentation when applicable.File Government Tort Claims within statutory deadlines.Calendar all applicable deadlines in the firm's case management system.Serious Injury CasesIdentify Serious Injury (SI) cases requiring immediate attorney review.Coordinate the collection of police reports, policy limits, witness statements, photographs, videos, and other critical evidence.Assist with Pre-Procedure Evaluations (PPEs), including obtaining records, bills, estimates, policy limits, ISO reports, and Criminal Background Checks when required.Coordinate with Records Clerks to obtain prior medical records and documentation.Documentation & Case ProgressionMaintain accurate and organized electronic case files.Update Litify with all case activity and communications.Scan, upload, and organize documents promptly.Ensure all case milestones and deadlines are properly documented.Work closely with attorneys and support staff to move cases toward settlement.Additional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in settlement preparation and negotiations as directed by an attorney.Seek opportunities to enhance the client experience and encourage client reviews.Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsRequiredPrevious Plaintiff Personal Injury Case Management experience.Strong understanding of California Personal Injury claims.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Exceptional customer service skills with compassion and empathy.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.PreferredExperience using Litify or Salesforce-based case management software.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Experience handling Serious Injury cases.Knowledge of MedPay, UM/UIM, Government Claims, and lien resolution.What Makes You Successful

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our team. This position is designed for a highly accomplished attorney with extensive plaintiff personal injury experience who can independently manage complex, high-value cases while providing leadership and mentorship within the Pre-Litigation Department.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Pre-Litigation Attorney will oversee a high-value personal injury caseload from intake through settlement, ensuring every case is strategically managed to maximize client recovery. In addition to handling complex legal matters, this individual will serve as a leader within the department by mentoring junior attorneys and legal staff, collaborating with leadership, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the firm.

    The ideal candidate has significant experience negotiating substantial settlements, excels in a fast-paced environment, and possesses the leadership skills necessary to help develop a high-performing pre-litigation team.


    Essential ResponsibilitiesCase Management & StrategyIndependently manage a high-volume plaintiff personal injury caseload from intake through settlement.Develop legal strategy based on liability, damages, insurance coverage, and overall case value.Evaluate complex liability issues and exposure.Analyze medical records, treatment progression, future medical care, and damages.Monitor statutes of limitation and all litigation deadlines.Identify cases requiring litigation and facilitate a seamless transition to the litigation department.Settlement NegotiationsPrepare comprehensive settlement demand packages.Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and defense counsel.Maximize settlement value through strategic negotiations.Participate in mediations and settlement conferences when appropriate.Resolve complex and high-value personal injury claims efficiently.Client RepresentationServe as the primary legal advisor throughout the pre-litigation process.Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.Build strong client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service.Counsel clients on settlement recommendations and case expectations.Leadership & MentorshipMentor and support junior attorneys.Provide legal guidance to case managers, legal assistants, and support staff.Review work product to ensure quality and compliance.Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Assist with attorney training and departmental development.Department LeadershipCollaborate with firm leadership to improve operational efficiency.Assist in developing best practices and standard operating procedures.Support quality control initiatives and workflow improvements.Contribute to department performance, productivity, and client satisfaction goals.

    QualificationsRequiredActive California Bar license in good standing.Minimum of 8 years of plaintiff personal injury experience, with extensive experience handling pre-litigation matters.Proven ability to independently manage complex, high-value personal injury cases from intake through settlement.Demonstrated success negotiating significant settlements.Strong understanding of California personal injury law, insurance coverage, and damages analysis.Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.Prior leadership or mentoring experience within a legal team.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume plaintiff personal injury practice.PreferredBilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.Experience handling catastrophic injury, wrongful death, trucking, premises liability, and other complex personal injury matters.Experience supervising attorneys or legal support staff.Mediation and advanced settlement negotiation experience.
