Maintenance Mechanic Job Purpose:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery & mechanical equipment used in the Aerospace and Defense industries. Maintains contact with vendors for complex repairs. Maintains facilities.
Maintenance Mechanic Duties:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.Assists in installing and relocating shop machinery and equipmentAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.Fabricates repair parts by using instrumentation and equipment.Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.Maintenance Mechanic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Aerospace CNC Machinist Duties:
Operating CNC and other manufacturing machines to produce machined parts; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and suppliesPlanning production by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Ensuring proper dimensions and tolerance levels for the finished product.Measuring dimensions of the finished product to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.Performing machine set-ups and leading other machinistsAerospace CNC Machinist EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
At least 8-10 years of CNC operation experience.Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
