    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Answers the telephone; relays information to appropriate personnel; greets visitors; and responds to requests for information as directed. Types correspondence including memoranda, letters, and reports; copies educational materials for teachers. Operates a variety of office equipment including photocopiers, facsimile machines, and computers; inputs and retrieves data and text. Assists the office manager in a variety of duties including, but not limited to the following: registering students for the upcoming school year; compiling birth certificate and immunization forms; verifying and organizing incoming supplies and equipment; ensuring grades are in the SIS; printing progress reports, report cards, and cumulative folder labels; maintaining student discipline records; and attending professional development sessions. Inputs and maintains required student data through the SIS (student information system) including, but not limited to, enrolling and withdrawing students and recording demographic data. Inputs and maintains required attendance data through the SIS (student information system); completes daily and monthly attendance reports; prints absentee reports; runs and verifies ADA report; enters excused absences when students return. Requests, maintains, and sends cumulative records when appropriate; records pertinent data on cumulative records. Demonstrates proficiency in the district and state student information system. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Diagnoses the learning abilities of students on regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialist as required. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) and, cooperatively with department heads, evaluates their job performance. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Supports and implements the CORE Literacy initiative and WOW (Working on the Works). Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. Evaluation
