    Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis and can teach for 8 or 16 week contracts. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

    Pay: $45.45/contact hour

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.

    A qualified full-time faculty member meets the education component of the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science discipline standard through one of three routes:

    • Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology; or an earned baccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the program's discipline, and

    • Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and

    • Two years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);

    or

    • Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and

    • Five years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);

    or

    • Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program's discipline, and

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related trade.

    Experience in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

    Education and Experiences:
    Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience ORAssociate degree or related industry certification plus 3-4 years of relevant experience.Ability to work independently and manage complex scheduling and administrative tasks.Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.High degree of computer literacy and comfort with learning new systems.Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs and maneuver within an office setting.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working in a higher education or academic environment.Proficiency in creating materials using Canva, Publisher, or similar platforms.
