    We're currently looking for an experienced Boiler Technician for ongoing commercial work in the Greater Sacramento area! Iron Mechanical offers full mechanical design-build services in Northern & Southern California with offices in both locations. Our focus from day one has been performance and quality. Iron Mechanical is working on large mid- to high-rise multifamily projects, design-build and design-assist on the full mechanical package.     Job Description:

    Install, service, and maintain commercial boilers of all sizes and types, including gas-fired, electric, water, and steam systemsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair boiler systems and componentsPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on boilers and associated equipmentTroubleshoot and repair boiler controls, pumps, piping, and related mechanical/electrical componentsTest and calibrate safety devices, controls, and instrumentationConduct inspections to ensure compliance with local codes and safety regulationsMonitor and adjust boiler operations to meet system demand and efficiencyPerform system flushing and chemical treatment for water quality and corrosion controlReplace or repair defective parts including valves, burners, gaskets, and heat exchangersDocument service and maintenance activities accurately and promptlyRespond to emergency service calls and resolve system failures quickly

     

    Qualifications:

    Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with commercial boiler and/or HVAC systemsExtensive knowledge of steam, hydronic, and high-efficiency boiler systemsProven experience with gas-fired, electric, water, and steam boiler operation and repairStrong understanding of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical system integrationAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematicsEPA certification preferred; boiler certification/license highly desirableExcellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong time management and attention to detail

    Iron Mechanical is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Intern to work with our Pre-construction department in Sacramento! This position is part-time and requires 16-24 hours per week, with preferred availability on Mondays.


    Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

    Update Revit and CAD backgroundsExport Revit models to Navis modelsCreate PDFs from CAD and Revit modelsOrganize, highlight, and follow up on weekly tasksAssist in updating ventilation calculationsAssist in updating equipment schedules


    Qualifications:

    Job Description

    Provides and directs design and construction services for mechanical systems (plumbing + HVAC) of large new construction of multi-family and commercial projectsEnsures all projects are managed effectively from initiation to closureEffectively plans future work to create and establish project schedules and budgetsDevelops schedules and workload requirements for the project team to ensure effective execution of all planned workProvides supervision of all projects and ensures schedule, budget, and quality requirements are metInspects projects and provides timely updates to senior management and the GCDevelops and implements effective processes to enhance operations and ensures standard operating procedures are updated and implementedUtilizes various Project Management tools to develop reports to monitor and control projectsEnsures all field crew members comply with safety and health regulations

     

    Essential Qualifications:

    A minimum of five (5) years Project Management or Construction Management experienceWorking knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, piping systemsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsStrong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with generals, architects, field crew, etc. in a professional manner.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and WordExperience in data collection and technical writingStrong leadership and analytical skillsAbility to read CAD/plans/as-built drawingsStrong initiative and a self-starter attitude; competent in conflict and crisis managementExperience with Spectrum, PlanGrid, and/or Bluebeam a huge plus
