    MLJ Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Rehabilitation of the Northbound Gold Star Bridge in New London, Connecticut. This high-profile infrastructure project involves complex steel reinforcement and repairs, deck replacement, and additional structural improvements to one of the region's most critical transportation corridors.

    The Assistant Project Manager supports the project management team by keeping the project on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate should be willing to grow and learn and do what it takes to support the Project Manager and the project team, have the passion to take on more responsibility over time, exemplify the values of MLJ and show a strength for managing time effectively.

    IV. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

    Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or other related field (or equivalent years' experience).

    III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assist the project manager in project planning, project scheduling, cost monitoring, and cost controlNegotiate/procure subcontractors/suppliersEffectively draft memos, reports and documents.Write letters to subcontractors and vendors.Communicate project requirements to subcontractors and vendors.Understand and update the CPM schedule by interacting with the MLJ project team and scheduler.Assist in the preparation and negotiation of change orders.Review amplified drawings for changes and clarifications.Meet with members of the Owner's team to administer day-to-day activities such as planning access and preparing work plans and safe work plans.Perform any other duties as required.

    IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION

    Heavy Civil Bridge/Site experience preferredCTDOT and other public agency experience highly preferred8+ years of prior civil construction experiencePossess solid analytical skills.Effective time management skills.Willingness to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to take on more responsibility over a period of time.

    The Quality Manager is responsible for all quality-related functions on projects to which they are assigned.

    II. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

    BS in engineering or related field or equivalent years' experience in the industry.Certified Quality Engineer(CQE) as recognized by the American Society for Quality (ASQ).Certified ISO-9000 Lead Auditor, as recognized by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).The QM shall be a member of ASQ, or other recognized national quality-focused organization.

    III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Review submittals (catalog cuts, shop drawings, as-built drawings etc.) to ensure that they meet contract requirements.Prepare reports to document compliance with quality requirements or issue non-conformance reports as necessary.Identify and report quality problems or trends in the assigned area or program.Recommend corrective action to quality problems.Aid or lead project-wide system audits and surveillance, including supplier or subcontractor audits or surveillance to approved checklists and procedures.Support quality assurance for a project to ensure it is designed, procured, and installed to meet customer and division quality requirements.Write quality plans, procedures, audit checklists, and plans.Implement training sessions to reduce turnover.Conduct inspections of work as required- material tests, form work, reinforcement, structural steel, etc.Participate in the preparation and execution of equipment inspections/testingMay participate in development/modifications of equipment inspections/testingSchedule special inspections as required.The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Quality Plan and for the management and oversight of all quality issues.Perform other duties as required.

    The Senior Estimator works both independently and collaboratively with executive management and project teams to estimate project costs for firm fixed-price bids, proposals, and change orders. The Senior Estimator leverages field experience, industry knowledge, and solid analytical skills to prepare accurate quantity take-offs. Fundamental to this role is the ability to make sound assumptions and identify gaps in construction documents.

    II. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field

    III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for all aspects of Estimating processConduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided. Perform detailed project cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select tradesResearch selected products from a cost and constructability perspective. Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimate and manage the subcontractor RFP process.Qualify and level subcontractors' proposals according to project specifications.Itemize trade specific scopes and prepare bid packages.Review progress and construction documents for constructability. Lead and participate in discussion regarding alternate detail and materials for specific areas or trades. Provide and present value engineering options and costs.Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.Provide and present estimating productions and scheduling.Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors.Interact with clients, architects, engineers and Local Jurisdictions to understand and incorporate project objectives, schedules, permits, costs, etc. Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

    IV. Qualifications of the Position

    Over 10 years of experience with a General Contractor, specializing in heavy civil construction, particularly in public works, infrastructure, and/or transit projects.Several experiences with projects valued greater than $100MHighly proficient in selected software (Excel, Word, Outlook) HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software and P6 a plus.Proven track record of meeting critical project deadlinesAbility to make informed decisions, work independently, and effectively collaborate with estimating team members.Strong verbal and written communication skills

    The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the quality control program to ensure that the project is planned, procured, documented and installed to meet the owner and company quality requirements. The QM has a full understanding of these requirements and works in the office and field - with the supervisory, craft, supplier and subcontractor employees to ensure full compliance is documented. As the main quality representative on the project site, the QM ensures that all activities are planned with quality in mind and performed to these same standards. This includes working with and providing support to the project team throughout the entire process of planning, scheduling and implementing the full scope of the project.

    A minimum of 10 years of related construction project management experience.Heavy Civil Bridge/Site experience preferredCTDOT and other public agency experience highly preferredExcellent communication and management skills are requiredReading and understanding plans and drawings is a must.Highly proficient in standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe).Highly proficient in construction orientated project management software programsStrong skills in financial management of projectsKnowledge of scheduling software, Primavera P6 scheduling program is a plus.Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation programs is a plus.Ability to make decisions and work independently.Ability to meet critical project milestones.Willingness to coordinate and work in a team environment.

    MLJ Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Rehabilitation of the Northbound Gold Star Bridge in New London, Connecticut. This high-profile infrastructure project involves complex steel reinforcement and repairs, deck replacement, and additional structural improvements to one of the region's most critical transportation corridors.

    The Assistant Project Manager supports the project management team by keeping the project on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate should be willing to grow and learn and do what it takes to support the Project Manager and the project team, have the passion to take on more responsibility over time, exemplify the values of MLJ and show a strength for managing time effectively.

    IV. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

    Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or other related field (or equivalent years' experience).

    III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
