YARD COORDINATOR, SECURE PARKING

Reports To: Yard Supervisor, Secure Parking

Job Location: Newark, NJ and Savannah, GA
General Summary
Reporting to the Yard Supervisor, the Yard Coordinator (YC) plays a key role in the organization and security of the Secure Parking yard during their assigned shift. The YC is responsible for operating company equipment, including the yard switcher, pickup truck, and container forklift, while also assisting in special projects and yard maintenance tasks. This role may entail various additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the yard.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate equipment while meeting productivity and service level expectationsArrange units in the yard to ensure space is optimized, including maneuvering in tight spacesEnforce yard rules and safety regulations for drivers, vendors, and visitorsAssist and guide customer drivers performing pick-ups and drop-offsProcess gate transactions and perform security checks and inventory countsUndertake yard maintenance work such as sweeping, pothole repairs, painting, and weed cuttingMaintain a clean, organized, safe, and secure yard at all timesCross-train and become proficient in various aspects of the Secure Parking operationAssist in implementing emergency procedures as directed by managementProperly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Deescalate conflicts that may arise with customers and vendors in the yardMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalentValid driver’s license in good standingWillingness to work overtime, including off-hours “call-ins” and some holidaysAbility to work in variable weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.Strong work ethic and effective communication skillsWorking English language proficiencyEmployment is contingent on the successful completion of due-diligence inquiries, including a background check and a pre-employment medical examination that includes a drug and alcohol screen, conducted after a conditional offer is made.

This is a full-time position in a 24/7/365 operation. Employees may be assigned work shifts including weekends and holidays and may be required to work overtime.

General Summary
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Sales Yard Equipment Operator is responsible for moving Interport sales units and other equipment throughout the Sales yard using 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlers. The Sales Yard Equipment Operator is also responsible for fueling equipment, inspect containers upon yard entry as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Operates 7-high/4-high container handlers, forklifts and yard hustlersUnloads inbound trucks and loads outbound trucks as neededFeeds containers to the Modifications department as neededPuts Sales and Modification units away in their proper locationsAssists the Container QC Associate in moving containers for inspection, etc. as neededKeeps the Sales yard neat, organized, and safe at all timesRe-fuels all equipment Acts as backup for various other tasks in the Sales yard including container inspectionCompletes special projects as required including removal of weeds, trash and debris from yard, office clean-up and various other indoor/outdoor repairsUses an iPad or other electronic device to record information in the company’s softwarePre-trips equipment on a daily basis and record information in the company’s softwareRemains cross-trained in other areas of the Sales yardAssists with projects as requiredMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving historyStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with iPad technologyWillingness to work overtime, including off-hours “call-ins”, some holidays and weekendsEmployment is subject to the completion of due-diligence inquiries, including a background check and a pre-employment medical examination including a drug and alcohol screen, which will take place after a conditional offer is made.
