    Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Strategies
    1. Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP through the ARD Committee process for each student assigned.

    Primary Purpose:
    Direct the operation of the school library/media center. Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school. The Library Media Specialist will serve as an instructional technology specialist to ensure the library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the campus and will assist campus principals and teachers in integration and use of instructional technology.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Strategies1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculumprogram and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflectaccommodations for differences in individual student differences.2. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment,and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assignedand present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency,board policies, and administrative regulations.3. Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.4. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for specialeducation students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).5. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methodsaccording to district requirements.6. Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
    Student Growth and Development7. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.8. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activitiesapproved by the campus principal.9. Be a positive role model for students; support mission of school district.
    Classroom Management and Organization10. Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social,and emotional development of students.11. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.12. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, andfacilities.13. Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.14. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
    Communication15. Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents,students, colleagues, and community members.
    Professional Growth and Development16. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.17. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.18. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

    This is for the School Year
    Starting Salary for Certified Teachers: $57,000
    Starting Salary for Non-Certified Teachers: $54,000
    Primary Purpose:Under the program supervision of the charter Dyslexia Implementation Specialist, the campus Dyslexia Teacher provides students evidence-based, multisensory structured literacy instruction for students with dyslexia, in accordance with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook. The teacher is responsible for lesson planning, record keeping, and appropriate case management and progress monitoring of 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs. Additionally, teacher is responsible for management of student behavior, classroom safety, and communication with students, staff and parents. Students served are in need of intense systematic dyslexia instruction and may be served under a Section 504 Plan or Individualized Education Program.
    Qualifications:
    Education/Certification:• Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university Required• Texas Elementary, Special Education, or Reading Certification Preferred• Credentialed as either a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP), Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), or Licensed Dyslexia Therapist Preferredo If not credentialed - willingness to complete CALP and/or CALT training program provided by ILTexas with associated service agreement Required
    Special Knowledge/Skills:• Knowledge of the Reading Process and Multisensory Dyslexia Intervention• Knowledge of the Section 504 Process• Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act• Knowledge of Tired Intervention under Multi-Tiered System of Supports• Knowledge of the Interpretation of Data

    2. Implement the ILTexas dyslexia curriculum programs with fidelity.
    3. Provide evidence-based, multisensory structured literacy instruction for students with dyslexia.
    4. Contribute to and attend Section 504 meetings and Individualized Education Program meetings.
    5. Monitor and respond to student progress.
    6. Utilize the critical evidence based components of dyslexia instruction as outlined in the state Dyslexia Handbook.
    Classroom Management7. Create and maintain a safe classroom conducive to academic, social, and emotional growth.
    8. Maintain classroom discipline through the ILTexas student code of conduct.
    9. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with fidelity.
    10. Maintain all records in accordance to Federal, State, and Local policy and procedure.
    Compliance11. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all charter and campus routines and regulations.
