Interlachen Country Club is seeking a Mechanical Trades Technician. The Mechanical Trades Technician is a key member of the Facilities & Engineering Team and reports to the Director of Facilities & Senior Building Engineer. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, self-motivated professional who takes pride in their work and values being part of a hospitality-driven team environment. Responsibilities and Expectations
Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Maintenance
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:HVAC systems, air handlers, RTUs, exhaust and makeup air systemsBoilers, pumps, hydronic heating systems, expansion tanks, and controlsDomestic water systems, plumbing fixtures, drains, and valvesMechanical equipment, motors, belts, bearings, and drivesElectrical systems including lighting, motors, disconnects, controls, and basic troubleshootingPerform preventative maintenance on assigned systems to maximize reliability and efficiencyMonitor building automation and mechanical control systems where applicableRespond to and resolve mechanical issues efficiently while minimizing impact to club operationsKitchen and Foodservice Equipment Support
Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment including:Dishwashers, glass washers, and booster heatersCooking equipment including ranges, ovens, fryers, steamers, and warmersRefrigeration units, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and exhaust hoodsCoordinate with outside service vendors as needed while providing in-house first responseSecondary/Facility Support
Assist the Senior Building Engineer with larger repairs, projects, inspections, and preventative maintenance initiativesSupport facility operations during peak periods, emergencies, and special projectsAssist with vendor coordination, system shutdowns, and operational troubleshooting as neededPool Operations (Seasonal – Secondary Coverage)
Memorial Day through Labor Day, provide secondary coverage for pool operationsSupport the Building Engineer with CPO-related tasks, including:Routine water testing and chemical adjustmentsMonitoring pool systems and equipmentAssisting with compliance checks, logs, and documentationResponding to pool-related issues during weekend shiftsCommunicating proactively with operations staff regarding pool conditions and operational needsEnsure safe, clean, and member-ready pool operations while escalating issues as neededEvent Support and Set-Up
Assist with event setup and room conversions, including safely moving tables, chairs, and equipmentSupport installation of event-related items including signage, banners, lighting, and related materialsProvide on-site troubleshooting and operational support during events as neededService and Member Experience
Interact professionally and courteously with club members, guests, and fellow team membersApproach all requests with a solution-oriented, service-first mindsetMaintain discretion and professionalism in all member-facing areasTake ownership of issues until fully resolvedIdeal Qualifications and Attributes:
Education and Experience
5+ years of experience in mechanical trades, facilities maintenance, or building engineeringCertified Pool Operator (CPO) required or willingness to obtain within first 60 daysMinnesota Boiler Operator/Special Engineer LicenseExperience in hospitality, country club, resort, healthcare, or similar high-end environments preferredValid driver’s licenseAttributes

Primarily Monday – Friday, averaging 40 – 45 hours per weekParticipate in a rotational weekend coverage schedule April – OctoberOccasional evening, weekend, and holiday support may be required based on club events and operational needsMaintain detailed logs through the work order system and communicate weekend activities and operational updates to leadershipSalary, Benefits, and Perks:
