The Vice President of Marketing & Sales will lead the marketing and sales strategy for what could be the first DNA medicine approved in US, with potential approval mid-2026 (a first-in-class drug/device combination product targeted for use in the rare disease Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis). This is a pivotal executive role at a transformative moment in our company’s journey, offering the opportunity to shape and execute the go-to-market strategy for a breakthrough innovative product. This is a high-impact, mission-critical role responsible for developing and executing integrated sales and marketing strategies that drive disease awareness, patient and HCP education, stakeholder engagement, and successful product uptake in the U.S. market.
This executive, reporting directly to the CCO, will be responsible for building and leading an integrated marketing and sales team and overseeing a near-term product launch. As a key member of the commercial leadership team, the VP will play a key role in moving INOVIO to a commercial stage biotech- delivering on both a near-term launch in rare disease, as well as helping to shape the longer-term strategy through lifecycle management and pipeline prioritization.
The ideal candidate will bring deep commercial experience (across marketing, sales and other commercial functions) in both large pharma and biotech and have recent launch experience, preferably in rare disease. Experience in combination drug/device products would also be desirable, but not essential. This role will span both strategy and execution, requiring strong strategic and tactical leadership experience and ability to build relationships with key customers and stakeholders. The incumbent will need to translate vision into measurable outcomes and drive performance across commercial functions.
Essential job functions and duties
Lead the U.S. commercial launch of INOVIO’s first DNA-based combination therapy INO-3107.Build integrated marketing and sales team.Create an inclusive culture and enable a high-performing sales team to deliver focused execution and impact.Ensure marketing effectively translates scientific and clinical data into compelling marketing narratives for HCPs, patients, and caregivers.Collaborate with patient advocacy groups to ensure patient-centric marketing approaches.Conduct market analysis, competitive intelligence, and forecasting to inform strategy.Define and communicate a bold sales vision aligned with INOVIO’s growth goals.Cultivate relationships with key HCPs, health systems, and strategic partners. The National Director, Field Medical Affairs (FMA) will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and overall direction to the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and Clinical Device Liaison (CDL) teams.
The National Director, Field Medical Affairs (FMA) will report to the VP of Medical Affairs and will establish the long‐term vision, strategy, plans, culture, objectives, and infrastructure for the Field Medical Affairs teams. · Develop and implement strategic Field Medical Affairs plans and objectives that align with Medical Affairs and INOVIO strategy for all marketed and pipeline products.
· Lead and evolve, in response to company direction and growth, the Field Medical Affairs organization, including establishing and iterating Field Medical strategy and tactical plans.
· Oversee execution of these plans and manage the associated budget; develop and provide meaningful reporting on field medical activities to management and key internal stakeholders.
· Lead the identification of and interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in designated disease areas and/or geography. Develop and maintain relationships with thought leaders, other external experts, and principal investigators.
· Oversee appropriate scientific exchange with the external medical community of Healthcare Providers (HCPs), KOLs, investigators and payers through robust and balanced communication of medical and scientific information on marketed and pipeline products, along with their disease states.
· Ensure scientific, medical/clinical, and operational excellence through hiring, training, and mentoring a high-performing team of MSLs and CDLs to support initial product launch.
