A floor tech, also known as a floor care technician or a custodian, is an important member of the Indy Fiber team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors in various facilities.
Primary responsibilities of a Floor Tech
The primary duties of a floor tech typically include the following:
Stripping, waxing, and buffing floorsCleaning and sanitizing floors and carpetsDusting baseboards, vents, and other surfacesOperating floor machines, such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractorsMaintaining supplies and inventoryFollowing safety procedures
Secondary responsibilities
In addition to these primary responsibilities, floor techs are often tasked with performing secondary duties, which may include:
Cleaning restrooms, lobbies, and other areasEmptying trash and recyclable binsResponding to requests for technical assistancePerforming minor maintenance and repairsAssisting with moving furniture and equipment
