Job Description
The Buyer will coordinate procurement activities, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods at fair prices. This position is responsible for maintaining communication and relationships with vendors, updating the Operations Manager on performance of various suppliers, recommending appropriate actions, and assisting engineering department with finding purchasing alternatives.

Job Responsibilities - Buyer
Advise department heads regarding purchase and supply requirements, specifications, quantity and quality of merchandise and delivery needsExplore and recommend alternatives to save or improve deliverySolicit and analyze quotations for new or nonstandard itemsPlace purchase orders based on assigned authorizationSurvey vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery times to determine best and/or possible new supply sourcesResearch and resolve problems with vendors and company departments to facilitate the purchasing processMaintain proficiency in automated systems used for purchasing functions such as inventory control, vendor contract information, cost control and receivingPerform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directedDesired Skills & Experience - Buyer
Associate's degree or higher requiredMinimum of 1 year of related experienceProblem solving, Negotiation, PersuasionJudgment and decision makingWell organized with an aptitude for detailsEffective verbal and written communication skillsHave the ability to multi-task and produce quality results under pressureProficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Must be self-started and able to work independently with little supervisionCompany Description
