Material Handlers are integral to the success of our business. It is where the process starts. You will pull, pack and wrap metal bar, sheet, plate and tube to be picked up by customers in our one-of-a-kind will call department.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Is knowledgeable of materials, material locations, and processing capabilities.
    • Safely locates identifies materials and products using appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, side loaders, and cherry pickers.
    • Verifies the size of materials and products with the use of calipers, a micrometer, tape measures, and the established color-coding system.
    • Understands the use of “Heat” and “Lot” numbers properly identifying and handling related materials.
    • Counts materials on site and enters them into the cycle counter report.
    • Identifies discrepancies between the inventory listing and the actual quantities in stock.
    • Identifies the causes of inventory discrepancies, corrects them and adjusts inventory records.
    • Verifies material locations and when applicable updates location information in the IMS business system.
    • Assists other personnel locate materials and products.
    • Assists in locating materials to fill backorders.
    • Provides basic training of new associates following established Company procedures and documents associate participation on an as needed basis.
    • Interacts and communicates with customers and fellow associates in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times.
    • Utilizes the IMS business system to identify committed material as being “filled” or “not filled”.
    • Communicates, documents, and subsequently reports all inventory discrepancies, to include damaged material and material stored in the wrong location to supervisors.
    • Identifies and removes all obsolete material from inventories.
    • Completes and submits applicable forms and reports associated with non-conforming material.
    • Immediately reports any and all unsafe conditions to the Floor Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, or the acting supervisor.
    • Follows all Company safety rules and regulations at all times.
    • Follows housekeeping guidelines in the warehouse and related work areas with cleanliness and safety in mind.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.SKILLS
    • Practically applying proficient math skills, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

This leader will spend a great deal of their time in the warehouse working with their team and leading from the front. In addition, this position will work second shift at least 2 days per month to support and identify opportunities.


    POSITION OVERVIEW:


    This role will focus on delivering a superior fulfillment strategy and process that elevates our commitment to safety, efficiency, quality, accuracy, on time and builds a foundation of reliability that customers can value and trust.


    The role will have end-to-end control over the order fulfillment process, from order receiving and processing all the way through delivery. You will also be responsible for managing the fulfillment and store staff while collaborating with external partners to ultimately see orders fulfilled as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible.


    This role will be responsible for order processing, fulfillment (including picking and packing), warehouse operations, inventory and order tracking, quality control, and shipping preparation. The role is highly collaborative in nature, working closely with customer service representatives, warehouse staff, carriers, manufacturers, suppliers, logistics associates, and other team members to ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations are met.



    RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Performs and supervises activities including receiving, stocking, order processing, customer truck delivery, and will call in the most effective manner through proper supervision of Warehouse Floor Supervisors and associates.Drive QMS performance to deliver safe behaviors, quality product, and meet all customer requirements.Drive better performance in all required safety and maintenance tasks are implemented across all shifts. Create a team approach to preventing safety incidents and elevating accountabilities to the safety program.Creates and models a culture of “safety first”, ensuring that all associates who work or enter warehouse areas follow Company safety rules.Elevate the role of the floor supervisors to create high performing teams, deliver superior results, improve retention rates for frontline associates, and start to recognize associates’ achievement.Remove silo thinking, create a holistic team approach, and connect associates and team’s activities to the customer experience.Implement best practices to achieve significant cost savings and better than target KPI's.Work with HR to increase the skillsets of all associates, creating development pathways designed to improve their satisfaction and their retention. Establishes and implements warehouse training and development plan and directs the overall warehouse associate development process.Collaborates with the Human Resources Department to conduct the hiring of warehouse associates, ensuring that quality and safety conscience candidates are hired.Manage closely with Sales to deliver an exceptional customer experience and significantly increase market share.Creates a culture of quality throughout the warehouse processes and systems in association with material handling, receiving, proper movement, the loading of materials, packaging of customer orders, accuracy of paperwork, and the inspection of processed orders.Coordinates the implementation and monitors the compliance for all International Organization of Standardization.(ISO) procedures pertaining to warehouse operations, in a timely manner.Maintains an organized warehouse with stock and non-stock items tagged, segregated in proper stocking locations with lot and heat traceability.Establishes and monitors production standards and procedures for adherence and timeliness.Monitors the preventive maintenance schedules of all warehouse vehicles and equipment.Ensures that daily checklists associated with processing equipment, forklifts, side loaders, order pickers and warehouse vehicles are followed, and properly documented and stored in a timely basis.Provides detailed content in the management, performance evaluation of direct reports. Reviews and approves supervisors’ performance evaluations of their direct reports.Maintains an open line of communication with the Regional VPs, Executives Manager and Inside Sales Manager, ensuring that management is informed and updated on warehouse staffing and operational issues.Visits existing customers periodically to evaluate changing customer needs and desires.Proactively monitors a number of warehouse parameters to include warehouse payroll, warehouse expense, warehouse overtime and proper staff levels; the maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds and warehouse supplies; the safety program, truck delivery schedules, vacation schedules, quality control and test reports.Maintain a clean warehouse environment at all times, ensuring that proper housekeeping is followed during shifts and effectively coordinated between shifts.


    REQUIREMENTS:

    The Warehouse & Routing Coordinator plays a dual role supporting both warehouse operations and outbound logistics coordination. This position is responsible for accurate and efficient handling, processing, and routing of metal materials to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings hands-on material handling experience and strong organizational skills to manage order fulfillment while coordinating routing and delivery logistics across IMS locations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Material Handling – 50%

    Safety is the company's number one priority. Uphold and promote a culture of safety by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times.Complete a detailed 7-week onboarding training program with hands-on experience across all departments and shifts to ensure full readiness for job duties.Utilize IMS business software to pull inventory, process orders, and support routing decisions.Inspect customer material to ensure the highest quality standards are met; use tape measures, calipers, or micrometers to confirm dimensions as required.Pull, pack, and wrap material in accordance with IMS Quality System requirements.Fulfill multiple orders daily in a fast-paced environment, including operating a forklift and lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively throughout each shift.

    Routing Coordination – 50%

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    Diagnoses, and performs repairs and preventative maintenance services upon a variety of saws and shearing equipment in all California Locations. Plans and executes preventative maintenance schedules and works closely with branch leaders to ensure that maintenance is timely and effective. Consults on the selection and purchase of replacement equipment. Ensures the emergency situations are addressed professionallyand with appropriate urgency. Provides excellent customer service.     RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    With Little or No Supervision and Direction:
    • Diagnoses, repairs, and executes preventative maintenance needs and requirements for and processing equipment.
    • Maintains Class “C” motor vehicles.
    • Performs weekly inspection and monthly engine start tests of the Company’s emergency generator substantiating its state of readiness.
    • Conducts semi-annual and annual inspection of cranes.
    • Proactively maintains an appropriate inventory of spare parts, lubricants and other supplies related to the repair of vehicles and equipment.
    • Creates and maintains current maintenance and expenditure records for each piece of equipment repaired and maintained by the Company.
    • Informs the Warehouse Manager or Branch General Manager of all expenditures over $1,000.00.
    • Relays all maintenance situations that negatively affect overall customer service and Company productivity to branch supervisors.
    • Communicates and coordinates with vendors, such as parts suppliers, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner, with the goal of reducing down time.
    • Maintains good housekeeping in and around all repair areas and related work areas including tidying up after each job always working with cleanliness and safety in mind.
    • Drives on company business.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Diagnoses, repairs, and executes preventative maintenance needs and requirements for and processing equipment.
    • Maintains Class “C” motor vehicles.
    • Performs weekly inspection and monthly engine start tests of the Company’s emergency generator substantiating its state of readiness.
    • Conducts semi-annual and annual inspection of cranes.
    • Proactively maintains an appropriate inventory of spare parts, lubricants and other supplies related to the repair of vehicles and equipment.
    • Creates and maintains current maintenance and expenditure records for each piece of equipment repaired and maintained by the Company.
    • Informs the Warehouse Manager or Branch General Manager of all expenditures over $1,000.00.
    • Relays all maintenance situations that negatively affect overall customer service and Company productivity to branch supervisors.
    • Communicates and coordinates with vendors, such as parts suppliers, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner, with the goal of reducing down time.
    • Maintains good housekeeping in and around all repair areas and related work areas including tidying up after each job always working with cleanliness and safety in mind.
