    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    I. Position: Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Payroll and Exceptions Coordinator

    II. Status: Full-Time, Hourly

    III. Reports to: PAS Administrative Supervisor

    IV. Position Summary: The payroll and exceptions coordinator (PEC) partners with accounting, human resources, PAS and outside vendors to ensure every one of our PCW's is paid correctly and on-time. To be successful, the PEC must also be able to see the big picture impact that payroll has on the organization's bottom line as well as the daily lives of each employee. Because of this, they are accurate, have a sense of urgency and are proactive in resolving issues. Conduct ongoing related paperwork training for PCWs.

    V. Position Expected Hours of Work: This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends. Staff is expected to be able to work in the office, remotely, or a hybrid of both, during regular business hours.

    VI. Essential Functions of the Position:

    Resolve errors on timesheets for accurate and timely payroll processing. Investigate timesheet issues (exceptions) and make recommendations on processing of timesheets in an expedient manner.Research and assist with all PCW pay errors.Document late timesheets and complete verbal disciplines on late timesheets and unapproved overtime and recommend escalation where appropriate.Educate PCWs on filling out timesheets correctly and correcting errors on timesheets in new PCW orientation and on an ongoing basis.Consult and confer with Registered Nurse (RN) Care Coordinators, PCWs, consumers, and accounting clerks regarding errors and payroll in a timely manner.Input and coordinate consumer and PCW scheduling and other related information.Maintain accuracy in data entry for efficient payroll and claim processing.Process billable nursing visits on a daily basis as a backup to the system. Process all non-billable nursing visits on a daily basis.Complete and document hospital verifications.Investigate "no authorization and no orders" issues and make recommendations for resolution.Must have a firm belief in consumer control, the Independent Living Philosophy and Independence First's Vision Statement.Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the operation of the accounting department and Independence First as a whole.

    Position Summary: Personal Care Worker provides personal care services to consumer(s) of Independence First. Personal Care Worker is directly supervised by the Registered Nurse Care Coordinator.

    Essential Functions of the Job

    Assisting consumer with getting in and out of bed.Assisting consumer with toileting/incontinent careAssisting consumer with bathing or showeringAssistance with eating.Assistance with grooming to include mouth, denture, hair, shaving and nail care.Assistance with dressing and undressing.Care of eyeglasses and hearing aids.Assistance with mobility and ambulation including use of gait belt, walker or cane.Simple transfers including bed to chair or wheel chair and reverse.Skin care excluding wound care.Meal preparation and serving.Light cleaning in areas used during personal care activities.Changing of consumer's bed, washing bed linens and consumer's personal clothing.

    Additional Responsibilities

    Completion in a thorough, accurate and timely manner of all time sheets and documentation of consumer's condition as necessary.Keep consumer's information confidential.

    The ideal Pool PCW will have total care experience and will be comfortable assisting consumers with diverse needs. All PCWs must have adequate training in the provision of personal care services and in each skill that the PCW is assigned. Documentation of training or demonstrated skill is required. Previous experience may be accepted in lieu of formal training.

    ·         Hands-on experience with a variety of durable medical equipment, including but not limited to: Hoyer lifts, Gait belts, Transfer boards, etc.

    ·         Previous experience with total care consumers

    ·         Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with others

    ·         Set availability, weekend/evening availability preferred

    ·         Good problem solving skills

    ·         A working phone, with voicemail that you check and respond to regularly

    ·         Be able to pass a Caregiver Background check and have no criminal convictions that are significantly related to the job

    ·         Have ability to travel to areas of Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, and Washington Counties
