    Open Position: VP, Data Architect, Data Service and Governance

    Overview

    The VP, Data Architect role is a hands-on technical leader within the Enterprise Data Service and Governance Team. This individual will design, build, and support modern data architectures that span on-premises and Azure cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in investment management data domains. Strong hands-on data architecture skills, and the ability to translate complex investment and operational requirements into robust data models and integration patterns.

    The right candidate brings deep expertise across the full data stack — from logical to physical modeling, data warehouse to data lake, analytics to reporting — and knows how to match the right platform to support the firm’s investment management and operation functions. This is a thinker and a doer role: design, plan, implement, and support.

    Key Responsibilities

    Architecture & Design

    Architect end-to-end data solutions across on-prem and Azure cloud platforms, applying sound judgment on platform fit based on business requirements, cost, and complexityLead data modeling initiatives, including logical, physical, dimensional design, across various platforms of data marts, data warehouses, and data lakeDesign and implement multi-layer ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure-native servicesEvaluate architectural tradeoffs balancing delivery velocity, data integrity, operational risk, and long-term maintainabilityTranslate complex business and investment requirements into robust, scalable data models and integration patternsEvaluate new data product and platformHands-On DeliveryPerform hands-on development alongside architecture and design workConduct code and design reviews, and suggest and validate unit test casesContribute to the evolving data platform by evaluating, prototyping, and adopting new technologiesLeadership & CollaborationCollaborate with the Head of Data Services and Governance and Business/Data Analysts to define project design and influence requirementsProvide technical direction, lead design discussions and resolve conflictsContribute to the short- and long-term data technology roadmapWrite and maintain domain documentationProduction Support & Issue ResolutionParticipating in on-call rotation for operational supportTriage and troubleshoot data discrepancies, reporting breaks, and system issuesWork with stakeholders to resolve root causes of operational and data errorsSupport testing and validation of system enhancements before releaseAssist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for operational system upgrades or enhancementsCommunicate clearly with business users on issue status and resolution timelines

    Job Description:

    Reporting directly to our General Counsel, we seek an attorney to join a lean, business-integrated legal team that places a premium on sound judgment, accountability, and collegial collaboration within a regulated asset management environment. This role is well suited for a generalist who brings dynamic energy, professionalism, and a willingness to embrace the gray and engage fully in both strategic and day-to-day legal work in a fast-moving organization.

    Counsel will advise on a broad range of matters impacting the firm’s business and partner closely with teams across the organization. The role offers meaningful exposure to leadership and complex issues, with the opportunity to take on increased scope and responsibility over time based on demonstrated performance, judgment, and the ability to build credibility and trust through consistent execution and strong working relationships.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide legal advice across the firm on asset management, governance, regulatory, contracts, employment, and corporate matters, translating legal requirements into practical guidance that supports business objectives

    Support the firm’s registered investment adviser business by advising on Advisers Act–related matters, ERISA, and other securities laws

    Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including investment management agreements, vendor, and other third-party contracts

    Support corporate governance and leadership committee processes, including coordination with the corporate secretary function, preparation of materials, resolutions, agenda, and minutes, with follow-up on governance action items

    Support Human Capital Management on employment matters, including policies, employee relations, investigations, and compensation-related issues

    Partner with Enterprise Risk and other control functions to identify, assess, and help manage legal risks, including escalation and remediation where appropriate

    Manage matters end-to-end, from issue spotting through resolution, exercising judgment on risk tolerance, escalation, and documentation

    Build strong, trusted relationships across investment, client-service, operations, and corporate teams by being responsive, accessible, and solutions-oriented

    Handle both high-impact and routine matters with urgency, attention to detail, and a “no job too small” mindset, while maintaining perspective on broader firm priorities

    Required Skills and Experience:

    J.D. and active bar membership

    10+ years of relevant legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)

    Working knowledge of the asset management industry and federally registered investment advisers

    Experience working directly with business teams in a practical, solutions-oriented manner

    Experience supporting corporate governance, boards, or leadership committees

    Strong generalist skill set and sound practical judgment

    Ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot quickly between topics

    Open Position: Senior Software Engineer - Reporting, Client Service Technology

    Job Description:

    The Senior Software Engineer will join the Client Service Technology team within the broader Technology organization, reporting directly to the VP of Client Service Technology (CTech). This role will deliver scalable, resilient, and business-aligned technology solutions that enhance client service capabilities and operational efficiency across the firm.

    This position is primarily responsible for designing and engineering robust reporting frameworks and data preparation pipelines that power internal decision-making and external client deliverables. Overtime, the role will extend beyond reporting to support and enhance systems, tools, and workflows used by the Client Service team, including the development of departmental applications and process automation solutions.

    The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering and reporting expertise with systems thinking, solution design capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.

    Job duties and Responsibilities:

    Data, Dashboards & Reporting

    Architect and develop scalable reporting frameworks that support both standardized outputs and client-specific customizations.

    Design, build, and maintain automated reporting solutions that generate client-ready outputs (Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

    Develop and optimize data extraction, transformation, and validation pipelines using SQL, Python, or related technologies.

    Integrate and reconcile data from enterprise systems, third-party vendors, and internal data stores to ensure accuracy and consistency.

    Perform root cause analysis on reporting discrepancies and implement durable fixes to prevent recurrence.

    Enhance existing reporting infrastructure for performance, maintainability, and scalability.

    Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and support user acceptance testing.

    Establish data quality controls and validation processes to ensure reliability of client-facing deliverables.

    Apply development best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD processes aligned with standards.

    Systems Support & Tooling development

    Design and implement internal tools and lightweight applications that streamline Client Service workflows and reduce manual processes.

    Support, enhance, and troubleshoot systems and vendor applications used by the Client Service team.

    Identify automation opportunities across reporting, onboarding, and recurring service processes; build scalable solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.

    Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance standards.

    Provide technical consultation to Client Service leadership on system enhancements, workflow improvements, and technology roadmaps.

    Monitor system performance and proactively address reliability, scalability, and usability issues.

    Contribute to documentation of systems, workflows, and technical processes to support continuity and audit requirements.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent professional experience.

    5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on reporting, data engineering, or analytics platforms.

    Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.

    Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

    Experience building automated reporting workflows and client-ready deliverables.

    Strong understanding of relational data models, ETL processes, and data validation techniques.

    Ability to troubleshoot complex data and system issues methodically.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

    Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple priorities.

    Familiarity with vendor reporting platforms or financial data providers is a plus.

    Exposure to workflow automation tools or lightweight application frameworks is a plus.


    Base Salary Range:
    $120,000-$150,000

    In addition to the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus program, the salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience, licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other business and organizational needs.
