We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Madison, WI office . This position could also be remote for the right candidate. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and lead design efforts with limited support required from senior staff for the delivery of larger and high complexity projects. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. Additional responsibilities will include working within the project's monetary budget, assisting in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. Technical Path Principal Responsibilities * Lead design efforts for the analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards * Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports. * Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication * Provide in-process design reviews of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements * Provide technical training and mentoring. Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with limited support from senior staff * Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG * Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly * Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards and code requirements. Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner * Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction. Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation. * Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested * Respond to and resolve client / construction concerns. As a Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation. They direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers. Independently evaluates, plans, and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. May devise new alternatives/approaches to problems encountered, and able to perform difficult and technically challenging work with a specialty area. May exercise project leadership in a technical or managerial way on certain projects or oversee portions of large projects. As a Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation.
