Field Service Technician
IMC Management Services, Inc.
Position Overview
The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC equipment at client locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and delivering high-quality service across assigned sites.
Technicians serve as front-line representatives of IMC and are expected to provide professional, reliable, and solution-oriented service in fast-paced environments such as restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Diagnosis & Repair
Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment (fryers, grills, ovens, dish machines, etc.)Service refrigeration systems including walk-ins, reach-ins, and ice machinesPerform HVAC diagnostics and basic repairs (RTUs, split systems, airflow systems)Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions
Preventative Maintenance
Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, and kitchen equipmentReplace filters, belts, and standard wear componentsInspect systems to prevent future failures and extend equipment lifespan
Service Documentation
Accurately document all service work, diagnostics, and repairsRecord parts used and submit service reports in a timely mannerProvide clear communication on recommended repairs or replacements
Client Interaction
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor on-siteCommunicate clearly with operators and staffWork efficiently with minimal disruption to business operationsRepresent IMC with a high level of professionalism
Safety & Compliance
Follow OSHA and company safety guidelinesAdhere to lockout/tagout proceduresHandle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulationsUse proper PPE and maintain a safe work environment
Vehicle & Inventory Management
Maintain service vehicle organization and cleanlinessKeep commonly used parts stockedManage tools and report inventory needsEnsure readiness for all service calls
Scheduling & Time Management
Arrive on time and manage service routes efficientlyPrioritize urgent and emergency service requestsCommunicate delays or updates proactivelyComplete work orders within expected timeframes
Qualifications
Experience with commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, or refrigeration systemsStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsEPA Certification (required for refrigeration work)Valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyStrong communication and problem-solving skills
