Primary Objective: Assemble MTS hydro-mechanical subsystems Major Areas of Accountability: Assembles hydro-mechanical subsystems according to engineering blueprints and specifications, bills of materials and manufacturing process documentation. Meets standards for quality, efficiency, and schedule. Interprets engineering documents to determine results and processes. Ability to use hand tools, specialized tooling, and basic measuring equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs new and customer hydro-mechanical subsystems. Disassembles and diagnose problems. Develops solutions and resolves performance issues. Collaborates to maintain accuracy of documents and records per MTS policies. Initiates modifications and/or improvements to engineering and manufacturing documentation. Actively and accurately executes non-conforming materials process. Participates in process and quality improvement activities. Exhibits professionalism on the job at MTS. Behaves in a respectful manner toward coworkers, engineers, supervisors, and customers. Communicates effectively with coworkers, engineers, supervisors, and customers. Maintains and actively develops skills assembling use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to tear down and rebuild all models of paint pumps, including paint guns. Perform all maintenance on powder paint equipment. Capable of performing the repairs on paint agitators which include air motors. Knowledge to order parts, supplies keep correct amount of inventory on hand. Capable of working with engineers on special projects to give estimate on paint requirements which involve quantity of paint needed to do the job, time estimate to do the job. Handle disposal of hazardous materials. Essential Functions and Key Duties Prepare and clean parts for painting. Liquid spray painting of parts. Powder painting of parts. Capable of power washing all parts. Forklift operation. Hazardous material handling on a daily basis. Complete paperwork assignments, work orders, time accounting, etc. Maintain painting equipment and tools. Operate air or electric grinders. Focus and set examples of doing good quality work. Maintain all inventory levels for paint and supplies. Operate computer as required. Maintain paint equipment, including new paint booth with automated lifters and solid paint equipment. Estimate quantities of paint to be used on special customer jobs and understand proper application of special paint systems to ensure customer satisfaction. Introduce new procedures, changes and instructions to employees. Continuous troubleshooting problems with equipment and employees to try and find better and more efficient ways to satisfy customers. Work with and train each employee to achieve quality work to the best of their ability. Inform other painters of problems and how to solve problems. Work with ISO auditors, fill out change forms to correct the problem in ISO documentation. Hazardous material handling-0selaing of drums, labeling and storage on a daily basis for transport. Ensure appropriate storage of gun cleaner, powder paint, dry paint waste, etc. Repair paint equipment. Meet the objectives outlined in the Safety Policy. All other duties as required and as needed. Knowledge, Skills, Education Qualifications Education and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Previous paint experience preferred.
