    THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)


    Reporting to the School Director and under the direction of the Director of Student Support, the Education Specialist will work in close collaboration with the classroom Facilitator supporting all students in a general education classroom. Within this framework, s/he will work directly with students that have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The Education Specialist will provide specialized instruction for students in accordance with the IEP and build effective relationships with all members of the IEP team.

    The Education Specialist is encouraged to be a creative innovator that inspires and supports all education needs.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

    Plan, develop and implement IEPs collaboratively with an IEP Team when necessary for students assessed and identified with a disability.

    Provide specific academic instruction for students with services established and documented on a students' IEP, and develop appropriate social, emotional and education objectives for each student.

    Case manage and update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect learner’s progress toward meeting annual goals.

    Confer and collaborate with IEP Teams (parents, facilitators, administrators and Care Team) to monitor and discuss updates and needed changes if appropriate.

    Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect learner’s progress and goals.

    Consult with IEP team members to discuss learner’s progress and services.

    Design collaboratively with General Education Facilitators (Teachers)/Education facilitators appropriate teaching strategies for their student body, adapting and modifying activities, lessons, curriculum and projects to meet the needs of all students in a full-inclusion learning environment.

    Monitor, evaluate and document each learner's progress utilizing appropriate measurements and assessment devices.

    Maintain regular communication with parents by providing support, coaching and understanding.

    In accordance with classroom norms, carry out and enforce reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures for maintaining a safe, secure and effective learning environment.

    Maintain a current knowledge of special education best practices and trends.

    Implement iLEAD’s inclusive practices to allow a safe, secure and effective learning environment through co-teaching models.

    Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

    Establish a climate that promotes fairness, respect, social development, and responsibility.

    Utilize necessary educational technology and computer applications.

    Participate in the Student Study Team (SST) process and recommend interventions for your assigned grade level.

    Collaboration with facilitator and CARE Team to provide accommodations and differentiate to meet learner needs

    Reporting to the School Director, the Substitute Educational Facilitator will be assigned to work in the absence of a full-time Educational Facilitator, and be responsible for general classroom management and supervision. The Substitute Educational Facilitator, will plan and implement activities for learners that balances physical, social and emotional growth, prepares materials for learners to explore and learn, and conducts activities in a safe, organized and healthy environment.

    As a Care Team- Student Support member for an iLEAD California school, reporting to the School Director and under the guidance and direction of the Director of Student Support, the Care Team - Student Support is responsible for providing instructional assistance to special education students and in some cases providing individual support.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

    Adhere to the recommendations of the Individual Education Program (IEP) by conducting the following if applicable:

    Provide instructional assistance by helping to navigate instructions, workflow, and especially challenging assignments.

    Guide and assist learners with moving from one classroom to another and moving around the campus grounds in general.

    Assist in eating, using the bathroom, and using public transportation if applicable.

    Monitor and record learner’s progress or behavior to provide proof of minute's.

    Assist with Related Services as needed.

    Provide support when using assistive tools to help with access to the curriculum.

    Work collaboratively with general education facilitators and education specialists to prepare lesson plans that best fit the needs of the learner they are supporting.

    Monitor and assist students in learning activities as a follow up to the presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel.

    Clean the classroom and prepare demonstrations and visual aids for specific lessons, as needed.

    Direct and supervise learner to provide for safe learning activities

    Assist in shaping appropriate social emotional behaviors by reinforcing the social emotional curriculum and instruction.

    Monitor resource and learning centers and assist students with the use of center equipment and in the remediation of specific learning problems.

    Assist with the administration of a variety of assessments.

    Administer routine first aid and request appropriate assistance for serious injury or illness.

    Maintain or assist in maintaining orderly, attractive and stimulating learning environments.

    Participate, as requested, in parent conferences and/or IEP meetings.

    Attend to the physical and health needs of children.

    May provide support with healthcare needs as outlined in the IEP and as appropriate to the position.

    THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)


    Reporting to the Director of Student Support and under the direction of the Student Support Coordinator(s) and Speech and Language Pathologist, the Student Support Speech Pathologist Assistant will be responsible for conducting therapy with learners who have identified communication disorders and collaborating with learners and families on intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)


    Provide treatment assistance to students at various school sites and through use of technology to perform virtual meetings that are appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual learner.

    Work with students exhibiting the full range of communication disorders, including those involving receptive/expressive language, pragmatic language skills, phonology/articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.

    Work with students who have speech as a related service in addition to other services who receive only speech services.

    Follow and implement documented treatment plans or protocols as well as document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report the information to therapists.

    Assist SLPs during assessments with documentation and performing clerical duties.

    Prepare therapy materials such as visual boards, word walls, communication boards, and/or equipment for use in therapy activities; programs and troubleshoots Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.

    Adapt or modify instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by student needs and abilities.

    Assist in maintaining student records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs and reports.

    Observe and report significant behavioral patterns or other problems to the therapists.

    Assist in maintaining appropriate behavior of learners throughout activities.

    Use a variety of screening tools and protocols; appropriately administer and score screening tools.

    Interact and communicate effectively with children and adults from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Work independently with minimal supervision.

    Operate a computer and iPad using standard software applications; maintain and troubleshoot assistive equipment.

As a point of contact and representative of the iLEAD home study program, the EF provides academic and operational support to the parents and learners.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)


    Oversee the academic, physical, extracurricular education by planning, implementing and instructing.

    Conduct oneself in a confident manner so as to present oneself as the point of contact for assigned parents and learners of the independent study program.

    Plan, develop, and organize, in collaboration with the learner/parent, an individual learning plan (ILP) for each learner, which incorporates the standards (including helping to research and determine which curriculum would be most beneficial to the learner’s educational objectives).

    Meet in person or virtually with the learner at least every 20 days to: (a) assess and evaluate learner achievement and growth utilizing parent observations, body of work and learner work samples, (b) provide guidance and support to parents and learners, (c) discuss monthly learning/body of work and samples with each learner, (d) make any necessary adjustments or recommendations on teaching practices as needed per individual learner needs, and (e) regularly work one-on-one with a learner needing more support.

    Collect learner work samples monthly after reviewing the body of work. Assign work through the ILP. Maintain required learner portfolios as outlined by guidelines.

    Take attendance, confirm activity logs are saved and signed if needed, upload and/or maintain learning records and samples.

    Award semester grades and progress reports in conjunction with parents.

    Schedule additional communication or meetings as needed to meet the needs of the learner.

    Respond to parent inquiries and concerns within (1) business day of contact.

    THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)


    Reporting to the Site Director and under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Support and Leadership, the Student Support Speech & Language Pathologist will be responsible for assessing and identifying communication disorders and collaborating with learners and families on intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

    Work with students exhibiting the full range of communication disorders, including those involving language, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing.

    Contribute significantly to the literacy achievement of students with communication disorders, as well as other learners who are at risk for school failure, or those who struggle.

    Conduct assessments in collaboration with others that help to identify students with communication disorders as well as to inform instruction and intervention.

    Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student, including children who are educationally at risk.

    Configure school wide programs that employ a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities, and other students as appropriate.

    Gather and interpret data with individual students, as well as overall program evaluation.

    Meet federal and state mandates as well as local policies including Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development.

    Collaborate with Facilitators, Student Support, Education Specialist, Counselor, in addition to others to design and implement programs.

    Engage families in planning, decision making, and program implementation.

    Actively engage students in goal planning, intervention implementation, monitoring of progress, and self-advocacy appropriate to age and ability level.

    Supervision CEUs for SLPa supervision course work as required by the SLPAB.

    Two years of related experience.

    Reporting to the School Director, the Facilitator will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential through Project-based Learning. Most schools have a set curriculum that must be followed, however at iLEAD California the Facilitator will have the unique opportunity to both create and tailor curriculum to the needs of the learners.

    Incorporate a focus in enriching the curriculum by implementing a plan of Project-based Learning.

    Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate learners and best utilize instruction time.

    Plan, map, develop, and effectively implement rigorous, differentiated, and inquiry-based lessons and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each learner.

    Create a safe learning atmosphere of trust and respect to ensure a comfortable, engaging and learner created room environment.

    Establish and maintain outstanding classroom management skills needed to achieve a functional and supportive learning atmosphere.

    Evaluate learners’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare reports of progress, and develop an individual learning plan (ILP) for each learner in collaboration with the learner and family member.

    Identify learners’ needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping learners solve health, social emotional and learning problems.

    Create a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.

    Use a wide range of summative and formative assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.

    Communicate and liaise on a regular basis with fellow department members with regards to planning, assessment, and curriculum mapping.

    Provide ongoing support and actively collaborate with all iLEAD Schools’ leaders and employees to ensure that the mission, vision, values and philosophy of iLEAD Schools is clearly understood and carried out.

    Represent iLEAD Schools in a positive and professional manner in all interactions and communications.
