    Are you a skilled driver with a passion for customer service? Join our team at Icy Strait Point, where you'll provide safe and memorable transportation for cruise and non-cruise guests in one of Alaska's most stunning locations.

    What We Offer:

    • Competitive Pay: $30 per hour
    • Travel Stipend: $1,000 (paid on your first paycheck)
    • Completion Bonus: Up to $1,200

    Responsibilities:

    • Transport guests safely and efficiently to various locations.
    • Share general information about Icy Strait Point and provide excellent customer service.
    • Welcome guests, collect tickets, and assist with boarding.
    • Participate in required training and promote Icy Strait Point venues.
    • Support other programs and perform additional duties as needed.

    Requirements:

    • Valid CDL Driver's License.
    • Willingness to learn about Tlingit culture.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
    • Driver-for-Hire card (preferred).
    • Age 25 or older (preferred).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit for extended periods.
    • Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from remote locations.
    • Able to navigate gravel roads and work in various weather conditions.

    Reports To: Director of Excursions

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Sales Team Leader to inspire, lead, and elevate our sales team to achieve outstanding results. This pivotal role involves creating a dynamic work environment, enhancing communication processes, fostering accountability and growth within the team, and driving tour sales and upselling opportunities.

    In addition to overseeing sales operations, the Sales Team Leader will play a key role in supporting Guest Services and Whale Loading Operations, ensuring seamless and efficient experience for both guests and staff.

    As a Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing and developing a high-performing team to drive growth and consistently meet or exceed targets. Success in this role requires strong leadership, excellent people management skills, and a background in sales-preferably within the tourism or excursions industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Oversight & Inventory Management

    • Strategically manage the remaining tour inventory and convert availability into sales opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate and timely updates in the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, identifying and executing upselling strategies.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize team performance and revenue.
    • Monitor and maintain real-time performance dashboards to promote visibility, accountability, and friendly competition.
    • Design and manage incentive and recognition programs that reward excellence and drive motivation.

    Team Leadership & Coaching

    • Provide hands-on leadership with a consistent presence on the sales floor to support, coach, and guide the team.
    • Foster a culture of communication and collaboration with a strong emphasis on verbal and in-person interaction.
    • Mentor lead sales representatives and team members to support professional development and internal growth.

    Operational Management & Communication

    • Act as the primary point of contact for all sales operations, ensuring timely and professional communication with other departments.
    • Manage team schedules to ensure appropriate coverage, shift rotation, and operational continuity using platforms such as Deputy, Fare Harbor, and OptiSign.
    • Personally verify tour counts directly from the ship to maintain inventory accuracy and efficiency.
    • Actively resolve issues as they arise, maintaining alignment across sales and operational teams.
    • Lead with a high level of accountability, setting and upholding clear expectations for team performance and conduct.

    Strategic & Analytical Responsibilities

    • Strengthening guest relationships through excellent service and support, driving loyalty and referrals.
    • Collaborate cross-departmentally with operations, marketing, and guest services to ensure strategic alignment.
    • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity to proactively adjust tactics.
    • Provide detailed reports and strategic insights to senior leadership on sales performance and team productivity.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in a sales management or supervisory role, ideally in a tourism, retail, or guest-service environment. At least 5 years as a supervisor of 6 or more people in a sales setting required.
    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in sales.
    • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
    • High level of organizational, strategic, and problem-solving capability.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
    • Proficiency in sales and scheduling tools such as Fare Harbor and OptiSign.
    • Professional, driven, and team-oriented leadership style.

    Summary:

    Keeps all female public facilities in a neat and clean condition. Public area attendant promotes a positive image of the site to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Cleans interior of buildings, outside site spaces and restrooms.
    • Empties ashtrays and urns.
    • Cut wood and keep fires going on site
    • Polishes furniture and fixtures.
    • Keeps the front of the building and site free from trash.
    • Washes walls and ceilings, moves and arranges furniture.
    • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
    • Dust and polishes metal work.
    • To perform daily assigned tasks in toilets, buildings, trash, sites, etc.
    • To clean and maintain all equipment daily.
    • To follow up a special cleaning program
    • To report maintenance issues to supervisor immediately.
    • To assist Guest in Public Areas when required.
    • To have good knowledge of all facilities, hours of operation, Restaurants, shops and function rooms.
    • Post caution signs as and when required.
    • Responsible to follow departmental policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for upkeep of all the equipment which he is using i.e., Vacuum cleaner, trolleys, Scrubbing machine.
    • Responsible for maintaining a time schedule for cleaning of their areas.
    • Responsible for spring/winter cleaning of their area as per the schedule is given to them.
    • Any other duties as assigned by management.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

    • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
    • Prolonged periods of standing.
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to swing an ax and cut wood
    • Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests.
    • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
    • Ability to work in an unheated building.
    • Willing to live in a remote, rural community
    • Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
    • Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather
    • In Season, the hours can be extended.
