Service technician is responsible for providing irrigation installation, maintenance and service of various residential properties. This person will be responsible for keeping accurate records, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.
Essential duties include, but no limited to:
Works closely with Service Manager and Field Supervisor
Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism ‘
Monitor test old and new irrigation installations, Troubleshoot and repair problems, observe pipe and valve placements and evaluate start-ups, winterization, and overall operation of the irrigation system
Conduct and record detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades as necessary for the client
Maintain a clean job site, orderly and stocked vehicle
Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
Track materials and time on service work orders and submit daily according to current processes and procedures
Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMVR
2 years’ experience within the green industry or 1 year of related experience in the Irrigation field
Strong customer service background
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Essential knowledge and have recent prior experience with wire locators, pipe sizing, and multi meters
Must be self-motivated, and be professional in appearance and actions
Must be well organized with strong communication skills and ability to multi task
Must have the ability to be proactive, plan ahead and problem solve to minimize disruption, errors, and risk and keep maintenance schedules on task, within budget and on time
Absolute essential- ability to work independently or as a team
Must take ownership of work and own responsibility of making sure things are done accurately and to the complete satisfaction of the customer. Ensure tasks were completed according to contracted terms and if not, take ownership and actions to ensure they are corrected in a timely manner
Ability work under pressure, adaptable to changing priorities and without constant supervision
Absolute essential - to work overtime, weekends due to the seasonal nature of work
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and excavating/back filling necessary holes and trenches in a safe manner
Work environment
This position requires physical abilities such as strength and manual dexterity, and must be able to perform all required functions of this position. While performing duties of this job the service technician is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift crouch, reach, stoop or kneel. This position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot or cold conditions. Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement and dirty/wet worksites
