This individual will perform tasks involving commercial construction projects. Essential Functions (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.) Perform a variety of tasks involving concrete including forming, setting, and finishing. Assist in erecting, moving, placing, and striping various formwork. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent/Foreman, Safety Manager, Safety Officer or HR Manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some knowledge of tilt-up type concrete projects Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. Ability to work as a team and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in either English and/or Spanish. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions. Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.     Job Summary

    Heavy Equipment Operator will play an integral role in the construction of commercial projects by operating a variety of heavy equipment such as but not limited to Loaders, Track Hoes, Back Hoes, etc... In certain situations, they will also assist other craft workers in their endeavors.


    Schedule

    Full-Time; Monday Friday (Saturdays depend on work load) (hours depend on crew and job site)


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    To be effective, Equipment Operator must:


    Be able to operate a variety of heavy equipmentLocate and work in areas that involve utilities and other buried items prior to diggingMaintain a clean job site: pick up tools and equipment as well as secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazardsBe familiar with material handling and storageEnsure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followedCommunicate effectively with Superintendent/Foreman, Safety Manager, Safety Officer or HR Manager to inform them of any potential safety issues

    Technical Skills

    Knowledge of proper use of heavy equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work

    Other Skills and Abilities
