    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise, process development, and customer support related to industrial machinery. This role bridges engineering, sales, and service by demonstrating machine capabilities, optimizing cutting parameters, and ensuring customers achieve maximum value from their laser systems. Primary Responsibilities: -        Develop and optimize laser cutting parameters for various metals and material thickness.-        Conduct machine demonstrations, trials, and proof of concept test for prospective customers.-        Troubleshoot cutting quality and process issues.-        Provide on-site and remote training to customers on machine operation, maintenance, and process optimization. -        Develop and document cutting process databases, application notes, and best practice guides.  Secondary Responsibilities:-        Support installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed -        Prepare technical documentation, cutting samples, and reports for customer presentations-        Support trade shows, open houses, and industry events with live demonstration and technical expertise -        Assist in product development by relating customer and application insights to R&D  Position Requirements: -         Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (Equivalent experience may be considered)-        5+ Years of experience in laser processing, CNC machinery, or precision metal fabrication-        Hands-on experience with fiber laser products highly preferred-        Knowledge of motion controls systems, optics, and materials sciences is a plus -        Familiarity with CAD/CAM software -        Travel requirement is 25%

    Position Summary:

    About the Role

    The Service Engineer position is the primary point of contact responsible for training, installation and maintenance of all HSG tech machinery in our Chicago showcase space and equipment purchased by HSG Tech customers in the US region. Reporting directly to President of US subsidiary and Service supervisor in HQ, this position will manage technical issues, maintain customer satisfaction, provide monthly maintenance support, promote value add-on services and provide training support. Business travel will be a requirement for this position.

    Responsibilities

    Provide key objective management (proper machinery installation, proper accessory management and proper understanding of service data)Optimize work order organization, safe tool use and customer data reporting.Demonstrate understanding of expense reimbursement documentation and customer service evaluationsPartner with internal Sales, marketing, finance, customer service and R&D teams to support stake holder objectivesOn-time completion of equipment installation, commission and maintenance tasks while following the company’s strict safety and quality guidelinesAnalyze and find root cause of maintenance impediments, debug system errors and propose system improvements.Participate and prepare company held trainings regarding technical process, company regulation and technician job duties.Conduct customer visits monthly for routine service maintenance while promoting related value add-on services.Provide one-to-one training and guidance for new hired service team member.Qualifications
