Department: Production Position: 500 Line - Assembler Salary: Hourly Summary Description Insert foam and packing sections. Essential Duties Lift and organize sections Interpret and print orders Cut insulation/foam Insert foam in endcaps/sections Packing, banding and labeling the sections Down stack finished product to pallets or carts Maintain a clean and safe working area Performs tasks of any position on the line as necessary to meet production needs Essential Job Skills and Experience Education/experience: Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be: High School Diploma or GED. Previous manufacturing or assembly line experience preferred, but not required Skills/Knowledge Required: Must be able to read a tape measure accurately Ability to work independently and with a team Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance and more than 50 lbs using a team-lift Ability to stand for extended periods of time Good hand-eye coordination Ability to use a computer, keyboard and related software Ability to operate hand tools Physical Environment/Working Conditions: This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands. The position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located.
