    Summary

    Join HR Green as an ITS Project Manager! We're looking for someone with a passion for innovation to lead exciting ITS and Traffic Design projects across HR Green regions. Your expertise will drive success as you spearhead project teams, while also playing a key role in marketing and business development. Let's build the future of transportation together!

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead ITS and Traffic projects including ITS Master Plans, ITS designs along arterials and for freeways, intersection improvement projects, traffic signal designs, signing and marking designs, and traffic studies.
    • Position HR Green as a leader in the ITS and Traffic disciplines through active involvement in professional organizations and industry events.
    • Prepare project proposals, scopes, budgets, and contracts.
    • Secure appropriate resources and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
    • Manage project financials, invoicing, and assist with AR.
    • Provide clear guidance and supervision to the project team; make critical decisions to keep the project on schedule and budget.
    • Take an active role in QA/QC, developing, coaching, and mentoring staff; delegate tasks/responsibilities as appropriate; provide on-the-job training to project team members.
    • Create and maintain positive relationships with existing clients and serve as the primary contact with clients.
    • Drive the growth for the company’s ITS and Traffic disciplines throughout Arizona.
    • Prepare responses to proposals, promote repeat and referral business, and seek new clients and business opportunities.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Master’s degree preferred.
    • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience with a focus on ITS and Traffic related projects including studies, analysis, and design.
    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Arizona.
    • Familiarity with the standards and processes of local and state agencies in Arizona is a plus.
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to collaborate with others.
    • Ability and desire to effectively lead, mentor, train, coach, and develop team members.
    • Experience working with AutoCAD, Microstation and Synchro/SimTraffic.
    • Participation in professional organizations such as ITE, ITS America, ASCE, and APWA is desired.

    Summary

    We are currently seeking a motivated self-starting Project Manager to support our Transportation Practice in Iowa. The Project Manager is responsible for assisting in marketing and client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, scoping and negotiating scopes and fees, client follow-up, billing/collections and maintenance. The Project Manager must maintain superior relationships with each of his/her clients. The Project Manager may manage several projects and tasks, and may be responsible for completing those tasks, simultaneously.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Project Management Duties

    • Prepares scopes of services, detailed project budget, and contract.
    • Is responsible for completing each project or assigned task on time and on budget. Regularly monitors project schedules and budgets throughout the project life. Responsible for leading formal Project Reviews for projects.
    • Assigns and manages tasks, schedules, and budgets to project team members (including any sub-contractors). Coordinates project scheduling and conducts “kick-off” and interim project status meeting with the project team.
    • Provides feedback and mentorship of the performance of project team members through completion of Project Staff Reviews.
    • Ensures the accuracy of completed tasks through the use of established HR Green QA/QC processes established for each project.
    • Monitors and pro-actively identifies or corrects technical, schedule or financial issues through effective communication with staff.
    • Assists the Client in bidding or contractor selection.
    • Monitor’s construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project.

    • Revenue managed goals may be established based on experience.

    Business Development

    • Cross markets other firm services as appropriate to clients. Participates in professional society activities related to water and wastewater professionals.
    • Provides input into the creation of marketing plans, and maintains regular and accurate record of marketing activities with individual clients.
    • Identifies project opportunities and provides input to the Go/No Go decision. Participates in the preparation of engineering services proposals, including the interviews, calculation/estimation of time schedules, and costs of the proposed work.
    • Sales goals may be established based on experience.

    Communications

    • Responsible for coordinating the timely invoicing and collection of fees.
    • Maintains contact with the client after the project is completed and cross markets such other services as is appropriate (in conjunction with Client Service Manager, where appropriate).
    • Assures project correspondence is complete and appropriate and that established lines of communication are maintained with the client, contractors, sub-consultants and team members.

    Extent of Authority

    • Prepares the scope of services, detailed project budget and contract for the Team Leader’s review and approval.
    • Is responsible for determining if a contract needs to be amended and immediately seeks approval of from the CSM and supervisor when changes in a project’s budget or scope are necessary.
    • Monitors the project team’s progress and evaluates their results, recommending needed changes in the project delivery process.

    Education and Experience

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
    • Must have 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience.
    • Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and have the ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business.
    • Must have a thorough understanding of project accounting and a demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects at the same time.
    • Has experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of others.
    • Working knowledge of technical and office support software required to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and have the ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business. The employee must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business, and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

    Compensation Range

    $126,320.00 - $206,800.00

    The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Minnesota Omnibus Labor and Industry Policy Bill Article 7 Section 2. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project Management

    • Develops project scope, budgets, and schedules. Assigns tasks and manages resources (including team members and subcontractors) to ensure project completion within budget and timeline. Coordinates project activities and conducts meetings to track progress and address any issues.
    • Acts as the primary contact point for assigned clients, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Leads project teams by delegating tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Oversees the implementation of quality control (QC) procedures at all project stages. Ensures adherence to company standards, including quality assurance (QA) specifications and Computer-Aided Design (CADD) guidelines.
    • Contributes to mid-year and year-end performance reviews by documenting the contributions of project team members. May directly supervise project staff, providing feedback and addressing performance concerns.

    Business Development

    • Provides input on marketing plans and client strategies. Maintains accurate records of marketing activities for individual clients. Identifies potential project opportunities and provides insights for "Go/No Go" decisions.
    • Directs the preparation of proposals and interview processes. Presents HR Green's qualifications and project experience to clients. May lead client presentations and interview teams.
    • Cross-markets other relevant HR Green services to existing clients.

    Communications

    • Ensures timely invoicing and collection of project fees.
    • Collaborates with regional leadership to recognize and reward team member performance. Proactively identifies areas for improvement and develops strategies to strengthen the team.
    • Maintains client relationships and collaborates with the regional team to market HR Green services. Works alongside the Client Service Manager (where applicable) to ensure effective client communication.
    • Manages project correspondence, ensuring clarity and adherence to established communication protocols with all stakeholders (client, contractors, subcontractors, and team members).

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
    • Professional Engineering (PE) License in South Dakota
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in highway roadway design with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
    • Proficient in project accounting, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Experience in marketing, client development, and overseeing the technical work of others.
    • Working knowledge of industry-standard software for design, analysis, and project management.
    • Experience with SDDOT projects preferred.
    • MicroStation and Open Roads Designer experience preferred.

    Compensation Range

    $109,000.00 - $171,800.00

    The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Minnesota Omnibus Labor and Industry Policy Bill Article 7 Section 2. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
