    Job Responsibilities:

    Position Summary

    Houston Christian University (HCU) announces an Adjunct Professor in our Psychology Department in the field of Social Work to begin Fall 2025. The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Education and Behavior Sciences and houses the Bachelor of Social Work degree. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Social Work.

    Job Responsibilities:
    College level teaching experience Utilize a course syllabus for each course and follow established departmental and institutional guidelines Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods. Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.     Bachelor's Degree and one to two years prior coaching experience at the high school level, club level, or higher. College coaching experience preferred.

    Position Summary

    The Counseling Department is inviting applications for adjunct faculty for its online programs. The online programs of the Counseling Department are an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, an M.A. in Human Services, and an M.Ed. in Professional School Counseling. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of the University. HCU accepts application material year-round from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Adjunct (part-time) faculty hiring is based on student demand. We offer day and evening classes.

    Job Responsibilities
    Actively seeks to incorporate Christian faith into his or her role as an adjunct faculty. Implements a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines. Provides timely, quality access and feedback to students via electronic communication and other appropriate methods. Evaluates students by a variety of means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them in a timely manner of their progress. Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Submits grades, paperwork and forms in a timely fashion. Performs other duties as needed.
    Qualifications
    A doctoral degree in Counselor Education is preferred, but a doctoral degree in a related-field (psychology, marriage and family therapy, etc.) will be seriously considered. Candidates should be a licensed mental health professional (LPC, LMFT, or LP) or a certified School Counselor. Previous college or university teaching experience preferred.

    Houston Christian University seeks an Adjunct Professor to join the Department of Narrative Arts with expertise in Creative Writing, Narrative Arts, and related fields. Adjunct needs change from semester to semester.

    Job Responsibilities
    Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in appropriate field(s) within the Department of Narrative Arts' Creative Writing and Narrative Arts programs. Creative Writing courses may include: Poetry Workshop, Fiction Workshop, Creative Non-Fiction Workshop, Professional & Technical Writing, Advanced Grammar & Rhetoric, Art of Storytelling, Topics & Genres, and Special Topics. Narrative Arts courses may include: Art of Storytelling; Collaboration & Communication; Media & Careers Survey; Portfolio, Pitching, & Networking; and Faith, Culture, & the Arts. Perform related duties as needed.
    Qualifications:
    Applicants should have a terminal degree in a relevant creative field or substantial professional experience. Applicants must also be able to clearly express how their Christian faith enriches, guides, and undergirds their understanding of creative art and storytelling.     Position Summary

    The Counseling Department is inviting applications for adjunct faculty for its residential (on-campus) programs. The residential programs of the Counseling Department are an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, an M.A. in Christian Counseling, an M.A. in Christian Psychology, and an M.Ed. in Professional School Counseling. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of the University. HCU accepts application material year-round from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Adjunct (part-time) faculty hiring is based on student demand. We offer day and evening classes.

    Job Responsibilities
