Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Department: Rooms Division
Reports To: Director of Rooms
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout The Municipal Grand. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring the individual to actively participate in cleaning guest rooms and public areas while supervising housekeeping operations, inspecting rooms, and supporting the housekeeping team.
The ideal candidate leads by example, takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality, and understands that every detail contributes to the guest experience.
Essential ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping Operations
Clean guest rooms, suites, corridors, and public spaces according to Municipal Grand standards.
Perform room inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are consistently met.
Assist with daily room assignments and workflow planning.
Ensure all guestrooms are prepared and available for guest arrivals on time.
Monitor and maintain housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment.
Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up on completion.
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate housekeeping team members through active participation and coaching.
Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and Municipal Grand service expectations.
Reinforce departmental standards and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
Support scheduling needs and assist with coverage during staffing shortages, high occupancy periods, and special events.
Guest Experience
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns.
Ensure guest rooms reflect the luxury boutique standards and Southern hospitality culture of The Municipal Grand.
Collaborate with Front Office and Engineering teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Maintain security of guest rooms and hotel property.
Support lost-and-found procedures and inventory controls.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to inspect rooms with strong attention to detail.
Ability to clean rooms efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
