    The guest services manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the guest services function at the hostel and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead a team of Guest Service Associates (GSAs) to deliver excellent customer service and efficient front desk operations.Assist in the hiring and spearhead training and coaching of GSAsUse effective and professional communication to ensure that the department functions properly and that associates interface with one another for effective execution in planning and operations.Ensure the night audit and reservation functions are completed accurately. Directly supervise employees in those functions.Respond to guest complaints, issues, and feedback to improve the overall satisfaction level of the guests.Ensure timely and accurate billing of all guest accounts.Ensure the timely, accurate, and thorough completion of all associate performance evaluations and any other forms of documentation as they relate to performance.Oversee departmental inventory of supplies and equipment purchases and ensure that the department is sufficiently equipped to successfully perform to established standards.Conduct random daily service reviews to ensure consistency in performance standards.Employ consistent, effective methods and programs of reward and recognition to promote a positive working environment.Plan, coordinate, and execute departmental goals in accordance with those outlined by the General Manager.Conduct consistent daily associate shift briefings, weekly manager/supervisory meetings, and monthly staff meetings to ensure a consistent and effective flow of information within the department.Responsible for the completion and filing of incident reports as required for any injury, theft, burglary, accident, and other occurrences.Other duties or special projects as assigned by management.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    3-5 years of related hospitality management experience and/or trainingExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyConflict resolution skills and ability to act effectively in a crisisSolution-oriented and a self-starterPassionate about hospitality and the guest experiencePatience and understanding when interacting with guests from different backgroundsAbility to effectively lead and motivate a teamSound decision-making skillsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questionsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, tax, and percentages.Creative problem solvingMust be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and cover shifts as required

    Preferred:

    Role Objectives:

    - Ensure a safe environment through active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and reporting

    Role Responsibilities:

    - Patrol property on foot to secure employees and guests across multiple floors and common areas

    - Investigate and take lawful action as per corporate policy on incidents, trespassing, and safety concerns; file incident reports as necessary

    - Communicate suspicious behavior and incidents to staff and management in a timely manner

    - Monitor surveillance equipment as needed for incident response

    - Control access points, manage heavy traffic during check-ins, check-outs, and events

    - Complete daily reports and shift recaps

    - Secure all doors, windows, and exits based on shift requirements

    - Assist with general customer service duties, including welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, making kay cards, receiving, and assisting with guest packages.

    - Provide lobby support during high-traffic periods by engaging with guests, addressing routine requests, and helping expedite service needs.

    - Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Skills/Qualifications:

    -High school diploma or equivalent

    -New York Security Guard License (unarmed position)

    -1 year of security officer experience

    -Ability to obtain F53 license within 90 days if not already possessed

    -Customer service experience

    -Strong writing and communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a writing sample required during the interview process

    -Experience in 24/7 hospitality/retail environments

    -Willingness to learn hostel operations

    -Helpful and courteous demeanor

    Physical Requirements:

    - Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, sit, stoop or crouch, talk, and hear

    - Occasionally required to climb or balance

    Skills/Qualifications:   

    - High school diploma or GED 

    - Preferred: Customer service experience, hostelling experience, and the ability to speak a second language 

    - Excellent communication skills and ability to handle cash accurately 

    - Enjoy working with the public; able to calmly and professionally handle conflicts, guest issues, or emergencies 

    - Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team 

    - Computer literacy (WINXP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook) 

    - Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required 

    - Preferred: First aid and CPR certification (training can be provided)    

    Physical Requirements:   

    - Regularly required to sit, use hands and arms   

    - Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear   

    - Occasionally required to climb or balance   

    - Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds

    Responsabilidades:

    Limpiar y preparar habitaciones, dormitorios y baños según nuestros altos estándares

    Trapear, aspirar y barrer pisos y áreas del hostal diariamente

    Realizar tareas de lavandería: lavar, clasificar, doblar y reabastecer

    Cambiar y lavar ropa de cama, cobijas y toallas según sea necesario

    Lavar y guardar utensilios y platos de cocina

    Limpiar y desinfectar lavabos, inodoros y duchas; reabastecer jabón y papel higiénico

    Lavar ventanas y persianas cuando sea necesario

    Quitar el polvo de superficies, muebles y accesorios en habitaciones y pasillos

    Vaciar la basura y el reciclaje diariamente

    Reportar artículos dañados a la gerencia

    Ayudar a mantener el inventario de suministros de limpieza

    Realizar mantenimiento ligero y tareas básicas de exteriores según sea necesario

    Habilidades / Requisitos:

    Mínimo seis meses de experiencia en limpieza de hostales u hoteles (preferido)

    Capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente y en equipo

    Experiencia en servicio al cliente es una ventaja

    Gran atención al detalle y capacidad para realizar múltiples tareas

    Diploma de escuela secundaria o equivalente (GED)

    Disponibilidad para trabajar noches, fines de semana y días festivos

    Requisitos Físicos:

    - Report any broken items to management

    - Assist in maintaining housekeeping supply inventory

    - Minimum six months of hostel or hotel houskeeping experience preferred 

    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

    - Customer service experience is a plus
