Horizon Staffing Solutions is currently searching for school paraprofessionals to work in Nassau County, NY school districts. Paraprofessionals provide one to one support services to students under the general supervision of a certified teacher. We have both part time and full-time positions available.

The role of the school-based paraprofessional is to assist with the daily care of one student with emotional, cognitive, physical handicaps, autism or other special needs. Their responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Reinforcing behavior through the use of positive behavior supportTeaching daily living skills such as independent feeding, dressing, toiletingGuiding and assisting student in small group instruction settings with class routines and in transitioning from one activity to the nextTeaching student, under direction of teacher in the following areas: recreation, motor, vocational, socialization and communicationCollecting data documenting student behavior for instructional purposesProviding language assistance for bilingual studentsSchool Paraprofessional Job Requirements:

Horizon Staffing Solutions is seeking Teacher’s Assistants for on-going and substitute coverage for the school year. TAs will assist classroom teachers in providing extra support to students with special needs while promoting maximum academic and personal growth. The job responsibilities range from supplementing regular classroom curriculum to helping individual students.
Responsibilities:
Provide instructional reinforcement for individual studentsAssist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the classAssist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materialsAttend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needsSupport students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 PlansPerform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administrationQualification Requirements:
