About the DSP Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional, reporting to the Group Home Manager to join our team at our Group Home. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your main goal will be to ensure that our residents receive the highest quality of care and support, while promoting their independence and well-being. Additionally, your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in providing high-quality care to our residents.
DSP Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and groomingAdminister medications and monitor vital signs as neededAssist with meal planning and preparation, and ensure that residents receive proper nutritionProvide emotional support and companionship to residents, and engage them in meaningful activitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care and progressTransport residents to outings, events and the Possibility Center Day Program
DSP Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent communications and interpersonal skillsAttention to details and organizational skills High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to work as a team and independently Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs independently, ability to assist in a 2 person lift for residents, while using a hoyer liftSubmit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hireEmployee shall submit to drug testing prior to employmentEmployee shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for causeAgree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Child Abuse Record InformationComplete cooperation with the licensee (Hope Christian Services) and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.DSP Preferred Qualifications:

As a Group Home Assistant Manager you will work closely with the Group Home Manager to ensure the day-to-day operations of the group home runs seamlessly. Your role will be responsible for coordinating schedules and supporting staff in a positive and supportive environment while caring for the residents. as they continue to develop within the community.
Schedule:
8 Hour shiftFull-time3pm-11pm + Alternating weekendsResponsibilities:
Assist residents in all activities of daily living while promoting independenceTransport residents to daily program/work as required or neededAccompany residents on doctor appointments and ensure proper follow-upAttend annual ISP meetings for residents and ensure accurate informationMaintain records of residents' progressAssist in planning recreation and leisure time activities, including community outings.Prepare menu and do food shopping (encourage maximum resident participation).Check medical prescriptions and assist with preparing monthly medication administration records.Respond to Life Threatening Emergencies per Danielle’s Law and Stephen Komninos’ LawCooperate with HCS and licensee and Department of Human Services in any inspection or investigationParticipate in scheduled staff meetings, and orientation of new staffBe available for special residence coverage during holidays, emergencies or relief coverage.Assist manager with monthly reports, supervision, and questions or concernsDocument relevant information in HCS’ Electronic Documentation System.Review red communication log book/resident RA notes within 24- 72 hoursOversee and assist in completion of shift duties to facilitate good relations between staffMinimum Qualifications & Requirements:
