    CASE MANAGER



    We are excited to invite a passionate and dedicated Case Manager to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a Case Manager for our Families w/ Children facility in the Williamsbridge area of the Bronx. As the Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, assisting families in providing them with the necessary care and resources needed.     ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS:

    Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintains and updates digital and physical records of all families as required by governing agencies.Collaborate with clients to develop service plans based on an assessment of each family’s needs.Assist families with referrals to outside agencies for employment, education, parenting, legal, medical, and mental health services.Maintain and update case files bi-weekly to document progress. Assist families with moving into permanent housing.Ensure that clients maintain an open public assistance case.Adhere to all city and state guidelines for maintaining documents.Conducts unit inspections.Performs other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Associate or Bachelor's degree. Familiarity with case management is a plus.Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.Bilingual in Spanish or other language is a plus.

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs at the facility which would include assisting with plumbing, basic carpentry, heating and cooling and other building systems.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the facility continues to operate efficiently and the physical condition of the site does not deteriorate. Effectively handle service requests and work orders. Repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors and locks, and other building fixtures.Assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry. Identify and report building deficiencies or needs to the supervisor. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with unit inspections. Perform other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Minimum two years of experience in general maintenance. Must have knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repairs. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 60 pounds.Be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). Availability to work a flexible schedule.

    Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities; review data and trends to cultivate opportunities within current and future supporters.Assist with grant applications and other fundraising proposals.Plan and organize small and larger-scale fundraising and informational events, such as conferences, symposiums, and other activities including logistics planning, outreach, and follow-up activities.Develop and execute fundraising campaigns and events, including researching, creating, and managing timelines, budgets, and other related materials.Develop and deliver community talks and presentations.Manage donor data, gifts and pledges, and other records in an accurate, timely, and secure manner including formal and informal acknowledgments, correspondence, and grant reports.Ability to work evenings for meetings and events as needed.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Passion for HFH’s mission, vision, and core values.Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.At least two years of experience working in a development position.Strong understanding of the development or non-profit sector.Excellent storytelling skills in both written and verbal form.Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.Experience with email marketing, CRM platforms, as well as graphic design software, is preferred (e.g., Constant Contact, Salesforce, Canva, or Adobe Creative Cloud).

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social services, counseling, human services, or forensic science.5+ years of experience in Case Management services, child advocacy, or social services.Experience working with underserved communities.Recognizes the importance of combining quantitative and qualitative data to develop comprehensive solutions and recommendations.Organized and fluent in Microsoft Suite.

    Manage a team comprised of a Head Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Daycare Helper, and Enrollment Specialist. Oversee a classroom of up to twenty children between 2-5 years old, if the Head teacher is unavailable. Lead staff recruitment and student enrollment efforts.Spearhead curriculum development and daily lesson planning alongside Head Teacher. Collaborate with administration and other department directors regarding child and family progress assessments and needs. Coordinate with administration for staff training, development, and background check clearances. Provide reports to agency administrators and program funders as needed. Liaise with appropriate City agencies including DOE, DOH, and ACS.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Current NYS Teaching Certification.At least two years of lead teacher experience in a program for children less than six years of age.Demonstrated supervisory experience. Ability to effectively lead a team and coordinate with other department directors as needed. Enthusiasm and a positive, strengths-based approach to program management and development. Must be willing to consent to a multi-phase criminal background check. Ability to lift 40 or more pounds. Ability to sit on the floor, bend down, and pick up children throughout the course of an eight-hour shift.

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs at the facility which would include assisting with plumbing, basic carpentry, heating and cooling and other building systems.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the facility continues to operate efficiently and the physical condition of the site does not deteriorate. Effectively handle service requests and work orders. Repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors and locks, and other building fixtures.Assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry. Identify and report building deficiencies or needs to the supervisor. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with unit inspections. Perform other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum two years of experience in general maintenance. Must have knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repairs. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 60 pounds. Be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). Availability to work a flexible schedule.

    Follow Homes for the Homeless accounting and payroll procedures. Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time. Process employee and employer contributions for 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans.Prepare and maintain agency salary reports on a bi-weekly basis.Perform other payroll-related calculations, including COLA updates, retroactive adjustments, vacation accruals, and year-end reports.Assist Payroll Coordinator when responding to employee questions regarding pay, benefits deductions, wage garnishments, and resolving issues promptly.Review and address agency-wide payroll inquiries, enter voluntary deductions or changes, and update employee information in ADP profiles.Review new-hire onboarding packages in ADP, completing a 13-point accuracy checklist and verifying all required documentation.Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data.Prepare benefits reports for Accounts Payable processing.Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.Assist with related special projects as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in payroll, accounting, finance, or a related field.Knowledge of payroll systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking and networking.
