    Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Full Time Athletic Trainer $10,000 Sign on Bonus Position Purpose Athletic Trainer (Ortho Medical Group) - As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. What you will do: Performs a thorough medical history on each patient, including; a thorough history of the
    injury or condition, primary complaint, pain level assessment, past medical history,
    review of medications and allergies, and how quality of life is affected
    Performs an appropriate physical examination on each patient seen, including; range of
    motion testing, strength testing, sensation testing, palpation, functional testing,
    ligamentous testing, and special tests as needed
    Orders and interpret diagnostic studies under the direction of a physician, including;
    radiographs, MRIs, EMG studies, CT scans, diagnostic ultrasounds, rehabilitation
    referrals, and physician referrals
    Provides educational responsibilities in specific to the needs of each individual patient,
    including; exercise instruction and demonstration and answering patient questions in regards to the treatment plan, surgery, rehabilitation and future care
    Prepares patient for treatment/procedure in a timely manner.
    Performs treatment/procedures according to established guidelines
    Prepare and assist the physician with injection procedures done in the office
    Follows OSHA guidelines regarding body substance, isolation, disposal of sharps, etc.
    Documents accurately and timely in patient's record, all treatment/procedures done and
    initials documentation. Minimum Qualifications:
    bachelor's degree in athletic training, Physical Education, or Exercise Science or health
    related profession required. Master's Degree preferred.
    Current CPR/AED from American Heart Association certification required.
    First Assist Certification highly preferred.
    LICENSURE:

    The Holy Cross Pediatric Rehab Facility opened in Spring of 2025 and provides services 6-days/week ensuring expanded access, especially to working families. This facility will also house: a state of the art primary care facility, women's specialty services, acupuncture and massage therapy, laboratory services, education facilities, a teaching kitchen, clothing closet and a food pharmacy - all of which can be accessed by families. In addition, community health workers and social worker/case managers will be available to all programs. This comprehensive, family centered approach will ensure that the needs of all patients and families accessing the facility are met.
    The anticipated outcome of the Pediatric Therapy Center is to create a distinctive and exceptional therapeutic space for infants and children that will improve their health and quality of life. Improving access and opportunity to children from local communities with will be instrumental in improving health equity and decreasing disparities. This uniquely created area will design and implement programs to improve the individual child's areas of need and increase overall function and participation. Individualized assessments, treatment plans, progress assessments and goals will be monitored at each session with family input and in accordance with each child's abilities towards achieving optimal function and movement and prevention of injury.
