    Advanced computer skills to include data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft specialty products.
    Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.

    Working Conditions:
    Physical Requirements: Able to lift patients and patient care equipment up to 35 pounds. Must be able to push, pull and move patients, and patient care equipment. Must be able to bend body downward at waist and be able to kneel. Must be able to utilize computers for periods of time throughout shift.
    Visual Acuity: Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing computer terminals; extensive reading; visual inspection, involving small defects, small parts and operation of machines; using measurement devices; assembly at distances close to eyes.

    8W Acute Pediatrics is a 16-bed postpartum and pediatric unit. We partner with the larger 68 bed Maternity Suites to care for the postpartum couplet care, as Holy Cross Health delivers approximately 10,000 babies per year. Holy Cross Hospital is committed to providing exceptional care to both populations and partners with the emergency department, surgical services, pediatric hospitalists and nurse practitioners to care the pediatric population in our community.

    Position Purpose
    Join Holy Cross Health's high-performing Women's and Children's nursing team, where you'll play a key role in one of life's most meaningful moments-welcoming new life. As a Clinical Nurse in Labor and Delivery, you'll deliver expert, compassionate care while working in a collaborative environment with access to the latest medical technology and a supportive team that includes anesthesiologists, physicians, and a Level III NICU.
    What You Will Do
    Provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
    Monitor fetal heart tones, administer medications, and coach patients through labor
    Anticipate and respond to complications using critical thinking and clinical protocols
    Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures
    Document care and patient progress using EPIC
    Collaborate with 24-hour Patient Safety Nurses, NICU teams, and physicians during high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies
    Minimum Qualifications
    1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
    Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ASN required, BSN or MSN preferred
    Current Maryland RN license or compact state equivalent
    BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional life support certifications as required by unit
