    Job Summary:

    This position is responsible for providing on-highway truck preventive maintenance repair services to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner. Must build rapport with customers through technical expertise and quality service on equipment so, that service value is received. This position requires a self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a high energy level who can work alone or with others in a shop environment. Hours: Monday through Friday 7 am to 5 pm.

    The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

    Essential Functions:

    Troubleshoots and diagnoses moderate engine & Transmission malfunctions, failures and prepare to provide repair servicesPerforms moderate engine and related equipment repairs on trucks and trailers Uses computers and related software to assist in diagnosing and reprogramming enginesCompletes documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition, and returnsInterprets and utilizes information from operating, maintenance, online resources, and service manuals/bulletinsOperates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificatesAdheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulationsMaintains all company equipment, tools, and the vehicle in good, clean, and working orderCommunicates job progress to supervisor and customer as neededWorks overtime as required by workload and customers’ needsProjects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearanceCompletes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety trainingWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerforms other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience:

    Limited travel or overnight staysTravel to other stores that require help during times of heavy workloads may be expected

    Accountabilities
