    About the Role: Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst Doukas, LLP is seeking a motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse civil litigation caseload while working closely with experienced attorneys and clients throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region. The ideal candidate will have experience handling matters through all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. Our litigation practice represents clients in a broad range of matters, including insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, automobile liability, construction litigation, employment disputes, professional liability, public entity defense, and commercial litigation. This role provides significant responsibility, meaningful client interaction, courtroom experience, and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required. Admission to New York and/or Pennsylvania is a plus. We also offer a hybrid work schedule to support work-life balance. Attorney Key Responsibilities: Manage a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts Represent clients at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and hearings Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and clients Communicate regularly with clients and insurance carriers regarding case status, litigation strategy, and outcomes Negotiate settlements and assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to deliver exceptional client service Attorney Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active admission to the New Jersey Bar required Admission to the New York and/or Pennsylvania Bar is a plus 2–8+ years of civil litigation experience preferred Experience in one or more litigation practice areas, including insurance defense, general liability, commercial litigation, construction, employment, or public entity defense Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Experience handling discovery, depositions, and motion practice Trial experience is preferred but not required Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and outstanding client service Why Join Us: Hybrid work schedules for flexibility Comprehensive health insurance coverage including dental and vision Life and disability insurance Flexible spending accounts for health and child care expenses 401(K) with 10% company match Discounted gym membership at RWJ Fitness Wellness Centers Firm-sponsored events including an annual family picnic, holiday party, and wellness challenges Continuing legal education and professional development opportunities Collaborative and supportive work environment with mentorship from experienced construction litigators Opportunity to work on complex, high-profile construction litigation matters across New Jersey and the surrounding region Hoagland Longo is an equal opportunity employer.
