Equipment Development Engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Background: Our client is seeking a Equipment Development Engineer to support equipment new product development activities for medical device manufacturing. They need someone who can help develop assembly equipment and assembly processes. They are in early stage development where they need someone to work with the equipment supplier to help develop the automated assembly equipment. This individual will interact with the supplier and support with design reviews, fabricate equipment, and debug the equipment. The equipment being worked with is used to produce endocutter devices. The ideal candidate has equipment development and NPD experience and is comfortable working cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams.

- Professional experience in software/application development, with strong expertise in Java and developing enterprise-level systems. Required. 12 + yrs.
- Experience in application architecture, designing large-scale, mission-critical systems. Required. 5 + yrs.
- Hands-on experience in microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker), and container orchestration (e.g., OpenShift or Kubernetes). Required. 3 + yrs.
- Strong experience in designing multi-tier applications, distributed systems, and high-availability solutions. Required.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, service integration patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and secure application design. Required.
- Proven expertise in modern security protocols and authentication frameworks, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, OpenID Connect, and JSON Web Tokens (JWT),
with hands-on experience implementing secure and scalable identity and access management solutions across distributed systems. Required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in information Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
