    Job Description

    Prospective candidates will have to drafts survey documents, manages timelines, communicate with clients, contractors, and field/office personnel. Candidates must be able to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, as well as training associates. Candidates will be thoroughly involved in developing project scopes and proposals, including maintaining budgetary responsibilities.

     

    Qualifications

    • Current Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor Licensure – multi-state preferred but not required.

    • 10 - 15 years field/office surveying experience in boundary, land development, and construction projects preferred.

    • Possess field experience in data collection and instrument operation, maintenance, and calibration.

    • Experience working with local municipalities.

    • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D.

    • Familiarity with GPS equipment.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Reduce and process field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for Engineers, Project Managers, Land Surveyors, and Drafting personnel.

    • Maintenance of Field Books and files including all sketches, traverses, and benchmark data.

    • Research legal and survey records to obtain information about property boundaries, including Deeds, Easements, Title Reports, Property Vacations, Dedications, Rights-of-Way, etc.

    • Work with field and office personnel, both as a team member and independently, to produce Record of Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Boundary Line Agreements, Boundary Line Adjustments, Easement Exhibits, and any document required for project completion.

    • Comprehend standard and complicated legal descriptions and produce legal descriptions when necessary.

    • Resolve boundaries using accepted boundary and legal principles.

    • Perform topographic surveying and construction staking.

    1. You will focus on implementing company CADD standards in preparation of all work products in support of plan preparation. This includes team collaboration for updating and maintaining the company CADD standards and rollout of new company standards and templates, as necessary.

     

    2. You will assist our civil engineers in the land development design process. This will include Grading and Utility (water and sanitary sewer) design, Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control design, Stormwater Management design, road alignment and profiling, Agency Permitting in support of various projects (Chapter 102, NPDES, Chapter 105, FEMA, etc.), quantity take-off and cost estimating, Land Surveying, and Construction Surveillance. In addition, various other tasks will be assigned to support the municipal engineering department. You will be expected to effectively interact with HEM staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner. Your work shall reflect attention to detail and compliance with company standards and external regulations.

    Job Description

    Herbert E. MacCombie, Jr., P.E., Consulting Engineers and Surveyors, Inc. is in search of a Licensed Professional Engineer, with Municipal experience. Serve on our team as a capable and efficient engineer and make major design determinations under the general direction of the Senior Engineers at our Marple and/or Valley Township offices. Experience should include but not be limited to Chapter 102, NPDES, Chapter 105 permitting, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) permitting and reporting, as well as Subdivision and Land Development.     Responsibilities

    · Municipal Plan Review for Zoning, Subdivision and Land Development.

    · Performing and/or supervising all aspects of project efforts.

    · Project budget tracking.

    · Quality assurance and quality control of projects.

    · Overseeing and mentoring the junior engineering staff.

     

    Qualifications

    · Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

    · PE license required.

    · 7-10 years of related experience with commercial, retail, and residential subdivision and land development design and/or review.

    · Experience with site layout design including grading, drainage, erosion & sedimentation control, sanitary sewer, and stormwater management.

    · Computer Skills Preferred: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, PondPack, and FlowMaster.

    · Able to provide expert testimony.

    · Familiarity with Federal, State, & County regulations pertaining to approval process.

    · Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, including proven experience working on multiple projects in a timely & cost-effective manner.

     

    Skills and Abilities

    · Capable of managing projects, schedules, and staff with direct management of clients.

    · Self-motivated with attention to detail.

    · Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
