The menu is guided by seasonality and classic technique, while the bar features 50 wines by the glass, 20 of which are available on tap, plus a thoughtfully curated roster of regional draft beers. For private gatherings, HW's Malt & Hop House is a dedicated event space, providing a distinct setting for celebrations, meetings, and hosted experiences
Expectations
Manage the day-to-day activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner Work effectively with the culinary management team and with event management to coordinate the seamless execution of banquet events. Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices Manage staff schedules, payroll, kitchen set up / break down, production, prep is completed and staff wear proper uniform as well as disciplinary procedures are followed when applicable Understand the financial component, purchasing within budget guidelines, achieving cost off food and expectations. Instill teamwork and synergy between the FOH and BOH staff through proper communication and delegation to ensure a “one team” mentality Understand local DOH standards and ensure they are always met.Requirements:
2+ years of culinary management experience in a high-volume upscale restaurant Dedication to culinary excellence, team success, and growth Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety and sanitation, effective time management and quality control Basic understanding of administrative tasks including inventory, purchasing, scheduling. Foodager, Craftable, Meeze is preferred. Desire to learn from our culinary leaders and develop professionally and personally Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests. The ability to work well under pressure and be a leader who will NUTURE and SUPPORT their TEAM. Technically savvy with / to become proficient with key systems and IT infrastructure (Foodager, Jolt, Hot Schedules, KDS) Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback Experience helping manage large and small group eventsSafe Food Handling Certification Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 100 pounds. Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks including preparing food to the chef’s exact specifications and setting up stations.
Responsibilities:
Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.Must Haves:
Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting. The ideal candidate must have an interest in cooking and willingness to learn. Familiarity with various cooking methods and procedures is highly desirable. Must be available weekends, nights, and holidays. Knowledge of basic food safety and health regulations Customer-centric Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Summary:
The Host plays a pivotal role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our guests. The Host is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they walk through the door. The Host will manage reservations, oversee the seating process, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
Create a positive and inviting atmosphere by warmly welcoming guests as they enter/exit the restaurant. Receive and manage incoming reservations effectively, especially during peak hours. Record reservation details accurately in the system and assist in managing guest databases and contact information. Organize and prioritize seating arrangements based on reservations and walk-ins. Optimize table turnover to ensure efficient use of dining space. Provide accurate wait times for guests and keep guests informed about the status of their reservation. Offer guests waiting areas. Assist guests with inquiries about the menu, special requests, or other information. Collaborate with servers to ensure a smooth and coordinated dining experience. Communicate table assignments and special requests to the serving staff. Keep the lobby or waiting area clean, organized, and visually appealing. Recognize and acknowledge repeat or VIP guests by providing a personalized and attentive experience. Accommodate special requests or arrangements for celebrations, dietary restrictions, etc. Promote specials, promotions, or additional services to guests when appropriate. Handle credit card and cash transactions and process payments accurately. Manage takeout orders, coordinating with kitchen staff and ensuring timely pickup. Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and courtesy. Communicate effectively with restaurant management and other team members. Adhere to Company policies and procedures related to guest services and hospitality.Must Haves:
1+ years in a Host role in a restaurant setting. Knowledge of Reservation systems, OpenTable preferred. Keen attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Greet guests warmly and engage in professional and friendly conversation to create a memorable experience. Provide recommendations and pairings based on guest preferences and menu offerings. Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly. Ensure the accurate and timely entry of food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system. Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Follow established recipes and standard operating procedures for consistent drink quality. Craft signature cocktails and stay informed about current mixology trends. Monitor and manage guest checks, ensuring accuracy in pricing and itemization.
