Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner Tampa FL
Urgently HiringWe are looking for an experienced and dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our medical team full time in Tampa FL. We have a need for the PA/NP to cover the night shift for a 4 on/3 off schedule. This role involves inpatient rounding and pain consult coverage for our pain management census. The provider will work independently and collaboratively with physicians and hospital staff to manage patients’ acute pain needs. Ideally, the incoming PA/NP has 1+ year of inpatient experience preferred (pain management, internal medicine, hospitalist, or similar), has strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently and excellent communication and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:Perform rounding on inpatient consults for pain management.Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, evaluations, and documentationManage and adjust pain control regimens under the guidance of the attending physicianRespond to consult requests, follow-ups, and urgent pain-related issues.Collaborate with hospital staff, nursing, and other specialties to coordinate care.Maintain detailed and accurate medical records within the EMREnsure timely communication and hand-off reporting to the day/night teamOrder appropriate diagnostic tests and accurately interpret test results.Order interventions for pain management/pain relief independently once training is completedPrepare prescription orders for medications involving controlled and non-controlled substancesCommunicate and coordinate patient care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary medical teamsTriage patient, facility, and pharmacy telephone calls/textsPerform accurate and timely medical record documentationServe as the clinical expert and resource to other medical teams
Qualifications:Completion of an Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programValid and unrestricted Florida APRN or PA-C licenseDEA license with prescriptive authority (or eligibility)1+ year of inpatient experience preferred (pain management, internal medicine, hospitalist, or similar)
Schedule:Full time (4 nights on / 3 nights off)
Salary (range):$130k- $150k plus an additional bonus compensation potential
