    A large and prestigious healthcare system located in the heart of beautiful Nashville is looking for histology technicians/technologists to work the night shift at their busy and high-volume level-one trauma hospital.


    Salary Range: $40,000-80,000

    Job Summary:

    Perform routine specimen preparation which involves cutting various tissue types and mounting them on glass slides for examination under the microscope by the pathologist.

    Nationally certified histotechnician experienced in receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist. Able to perform complex histologic procedures, recognize deviations from expected results, and analyze and correct problems using scientific principles learned from NAACLS training and number years of experience.

    Skill Requirements:

    Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot and maintain the equipment Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are required to collect and prepare specimens Lab safety and infection prevention is of paramount importance

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Remove tissue from a preservative solution, remove water from the sample, and replace it with paraffin wax Embed sample in a larger block of wax to prepare it for slicing before mounting it on a microtome Slice or section the sample then stain with special dyes and mount on a slide for viewing with a microscope

    Education, Certification, & Experience:

    Associate or Bachelor's Degree or 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry HT/L(ASCP) certification Or on the job trained/non certified per the lab approval


    Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

    A 300-bed hospital located in beautiful Westchester County in Upstate New York is looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee their General Laboratory department at their busy clinical laboratory. This is a night shift role.


    Salary Range: $114,328.50 - 147,088.50

    Job Summary:

    Responsible for the management and administrative functions for the laboratory. Responsible for policy development and implementation, regulatory compliance and quality assurance. Supervision is exercised over laboratory supervisors, clinical staff and support staff.

    Managing and authoring processes and proceduresTraining and presenting technical information to staffQA/QC of the departmentsFiscal and budgeting responsibilities


    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Evaluating laboratory operations consulting with pathologists; reporting results according to protocols mandated by the hospital and public health departmentEnsuring maintenance of medical laboratory equipment performance by developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repairMaintaining medical laboratory supplies inventory, determine inventory level; anticipating needed suppliesMaintaining laboratory productivity, monitoring workload, identifying peak and slack periodsParticipating in the hospital quality assurance program; consulting with pathologists; performing proficiency surveys; reviewing QC & QA programsMaintaining medical laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees, counseling, reviewing/evaluating and disciplining employees as neededComplying with state and professional continuing education licensure requirementsContributing to benchwork as needed


    Education, Certification, & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in biologyASCP or equivalent certificationThree (3) years in a leadership positionNew York CLT license
