Job Summary:
The Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers is a STEM-based program that provides services to middle school students from underserved and under resourced areas. This program will take place on the Harris-Stowe State University campus in a 3-week experience from June 08, 2026-June 26,2026. Applicants must be available to work the entire duration of the camp from 7:30-3:30 Monday-Friday. We are seeking motivated individuals who aspire to make a positive impact in the lives of the program participants. The college interns will collaborate with VIL team to teach 3D printing to middle school participants. During the Spring Semester leading up to camp, college student interns will receive paid training.
**Please note, this position does not include housing. If selected for this position, student intern will be responsible for living arrangements and transportation to campus each camp day.**
Essential Functions:
Teach 3D Printing PathwayAssist with STEM Activities throughout the dayWork with middle school campersMinimum Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled at a 4-year institution with a minimum 2.5 GPASTEM or Secondary Education major preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Punctual and responsibleStrong character and coachableEffective communicator (written and verbally)Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines as requiredMust be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented, and culturally diverse environmentDemonstrated ability to build rapport in developing meaningful relationships with students and colleaguesAbility to focus on results and commit to excellenceSupervisory Responsibility:
NoPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human bodyLight Work usually requires walking or standing to a signification degreeWorking Conditions and Environment:
Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environmentVery limited or no exposure to physical riskEOE Statement
