Job DescriptionJob DescriptionVoice Teacher / Vocal Instructor (Part-Time)School of Rock Tucson  •  Tucson, AZ (In-Person)

    Pay: $18–$22/hour  |  W-2 Employee  |  Part-Time

    About the Role

School of Rock Tucson is looking for a passionate Voice Teacher and vocal instructor to inspire the next generation of singers and performers. We’re a performance-driven music school where students play real shows at real Tucson venues — Hotel Congress, the 4th Ave Street Fair, St. Philip’s Plaza, La Rosa Tucson, Monterey Court, and the Tucson Jazz Festival.

Our mission is to honor each student’s musical journey with joy, passion, and respect — and to grow Tucson’s live music scene for generations to come. If you love music and love teaching, this is the gig for you.

Unlike most music teaching jobs, you’re hired as a W-2 employee — not a 1099 contractor. We handle payroll taxes, you’re covered by workers’ comp, and you’re eligible for unemployment insurance. You also earn up to 40 hours of Arizona-mandated paid sick time per year. When your lesson roster has gaps, we connect you with rehearsal support or student engagement work so your time on shift stays purposeful and paid.

    Responsibilities

    •       One-on-one vocal and singing instruction for students of all ages and skill levels

    •       Personalized lesson plans aligned with each student’s musical goals

    •       Teach vocal technique: breath control, pitch, tone, and stage presence

    •       Prepare students for live performances and shows

    •       Track progress and communicate with parents and staff

    •       Support rehearsals, camps, and ensemble programs as needed

    Requirements

    •       Strong vocal skills with solid music theory and technique knowledge

    •       Teaching experience preferred (private lessons, coaching, choir, etc.)

    •       Comfortable across styles — rock, pop, musical theater, and beyond

    •       Works well with children, teens, and adults of all skill levels

    •       Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player

    •       Performance experience a plus; multi-instrument ability a bonus

    Benefits

    •       W-2 employment: payroll tax match, workers’ comp, unemployment eligibility

    •       Up to 40 hours Arizona-mandated paid sick time per year

    •       GearSelect employee gear discount program

    •       Growth path: assistant show director, show director, and music director skill sets

    •       Flexible scheduling and a supportive, music-first team culture

    How to Apply

Email your resume and a short note about your background to Tucson@schoolofrock.com. Performance video or recording links are welcome.
