At Gretna Machine Shop, this position plays a key role in producing high-quality, small-batch components, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, flexibility, and machining expertise.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate CNC 5-axis mills or live tooling lathes Make program edits and adjustments at the machine Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Select tooling, set offsets, and verify setups Run low-volume, high-mix jobs (not high production) Perform in-process inspection and maintain quality standards Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize performance Contribute to a growing team and support second shift development

What We're Looking ForRequired:
2+ years CNC machining experience Setup experience on mills or lathes Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T Experience making program edits at the machine Strong work ethic and reliabilityPreferred (Not Required):
5-axis machining experience Live tooling lathe experience Programming experience (growth potential into leadership roles) Interest in growing into a lead role (especially on 2nd shift)

Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range:
5-Axis Machinist: $28 - $38/hr Live Tooling Lathe Machinist: $26 - $38/hrPay Notes:
+$1/hr shift differential for nights Pay based heavily on experience (GD&T + setup = higher end)Benefits:
