    General Summary

    Responsible for selling construction materials and services by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with potential buyers to ensure sales goals are met.

    Essential Job Accountabilities

    Execute business development action plans for defined targets to ensure sales objectives are metDevelop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads, and other sources to ensure sales goals are achieved.Prepare and issue reports on prospect pipeline, current sales, forecasts, and market trends to ensure plant and branch operations can effectively manage their business unitsAssist in the implementation of the strategic marketing plan, department sales objectives and individual sales plans to ensure sales goals are metProvide input on issues relevant to client programs, work in progress, marketing initiatives and sales assistance to ensure strong client relationshipsAssist the sales team in obtaining market information on existing construction materials competitors, including sand and gravel, crushed stone, asphalt concrete and ready mix concrete suppliers, to understand their capabilities and offeringsIn conjunction with the sales team interface with owners' representatives, subcontractors, and agencies to understand existing construction materials needs and identify sales leads.

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field, or equivalent experience

    Work Experience

    0 3 yrs outside sales experiencePrevious exposure to construction materials (asphalt, aggregates, cement, etc.) preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Ability to generate leads and close dealsGood customer service, public speaking and presentation skillsAbility to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlinesDemonstrated MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) skillsAbility to properly manage and prioritize resources and projectsStrong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information

    Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.     $73,034.00 - $109,552.00

    Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.

Hourly wage is determined by union agreement. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in excavating and grading right-of-way for construction of projects, such as highways, streets, drainage ditches, and dams. Essential Job Accountabilities Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site. Directs work crews engaged in operating vehicles and machines to dump, scrape, and spread dirt. Verifies curvature of graded surface, using hand level. Performs other duties as described under Supervisor. May supervise bituminous paving crew (Supervisor, Asphalt Paving. May supervise work crew engaged in operating machines to tamp, roll, and smooth surface for subgrade of highway and be designated Supervisor, Fine Grading. May supervise workers engaged in laying drainage tile and concrete and metal culverts, and be designated Supervisor, Culvert Laying. May be designated according to activity of workers supervised as Supervisor, Dumping; Supervisor, Rough Grading. Education High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience Work Experience The amount of specific job training required to learn the techniques, information, and facility needed for average performance in this position is from 2 to 4 years.
