Grace Neighborhood Development Corporation (GNDC) is seeking teachers with a Bachelor's Degree and PA Certification to teach PreK Counts (PKS), Head Start (HS) and PA funded classroom programs. Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and implementing daily activities appropriate for your assigned group, taking into consideration the age and particular group needs consistent with the Creative Curriculum and Early Learning Standards.
2. Observation and Assessment Records should be kept on each child and a copy should be placed in the child’s educational folders and shared with parents at least twice or three times a year.
3. Teachers are responsible for the coordination of Assistant Teacher (if any) responsibilities and activities and also any interns or volunteers you may have.
4. Teachers are responsible for the appearance and maintenance of his/her classroom. This includes displaying seasonal and appropriate children’s work as well as stimulating education displays. Should equipment or any part of the physical room be in need of repair, it is the teacher’s responsibility to inform the Director as soon as possible, so it may be fixed.
5. Teachers must keep parents apprised of their child’s cognitive, emotional, social and physical progress, including health and nutritional needs on a daily basis.
6. Teachers may be called on to assist the Director in designated activities such as covering another classroom/helping in the office
7. Teachers will be required to turn in weekly Lesson Plans to the Director by Thursday of each week.
8. Teaches will be required to fulfill PreK Counts, Head Start, Keystone Stars, State and all Accreditation requirements.
9. Teachers are always trained in Emergency Preparedness upon hire.
10. Teachers are required to undergo 20 hours of in-service-professional trainings each year to keep up with high-quality continuing education program requirements.
